We booked this cottage for a family get together for our daughter in laws birthday. What we didn't expect was this cosy cottage that was obviously renovated recently. It was a real home from home. Everything was catered for. My little granddaughter, who is two and half, loved the play area as it was her own private little park having a trampoline, slides, climbing frame and swing. The hot tub was a huge success too and used each day. The whole place was spotlessly clean and the beds really comfortable. Diane and Bill couldn't have done more to make our stay more comfortable and, although we were down to visit relatives, they had a mountain of information leaflets of places to go to and see. We were only there for the weekend but would happily go back to stay longer. It really is a hidden gem!
This place was very nice. It was just perfect for our family. It's such a comfy and cozy house in a beautiful area. We very much enjoyed our stay here, I highly recommend this place.
This is a lovely small home in the town of Aberdare. There is a small market just down and across the street for buying food and household items, and an ASDA just a few minutes drive away for everything else. It is within 30 minutes drive of several wonderful tourist destinations, including our favorites of Raglan Castle, Caerphilly Castle, Castell Coch, Caerleon Roman Ruins, Brecon Beacons, and Tintern Abbey. The cottage is set up with everything you could possibly want in a vacation home, and is so perfectly designed that honestly we were quite content to just enjoy some relaxation time in it. The back patio with hot tub was so peaceful and enjoyable, the playground for the children is perfect, and the house itself was clean, comfortable, and modern with a nice mix of antique charm. The hostess surpassed herself in accommodating the needs of our group, and even left milk and delicious Welsh Cakes for us to enjoy upon our arrival. The only word of caution I have for fellow travelers is there are a lot of stairs in this home. You have to go up a few steps to get into the house, then the kitchen and living room are on the bottom floor, a flight of stairs leads you to two bedrooms and a bathroom, and then another flight of stairs takes you higher still to the third floor with another bedroom and bathroom. In spite of the stairs, we really loved the house, and highly recommend it to everyone!
We had a lovely 4 nights at '266' cottage in Wales and I would highly recommend it. We went as a group of 4 adults/4 children. After our exploring during the day the hot tub and barbecue area was ideal for the evenings. We visited Bike Park Wales when there which is just a 20 minute drive away, went to the dinosaur caves and the coal mines (free entry) we loved the mines. We would definitely be back, Diane was a lovely host.
The property was well equipped with everything we could possibly need.We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day on the mountain bike trails. Our host Diane was awesome and willing to help in any way possible. One member of our group fell off and injured himself on the first day, Diane was happy to allow him to stay at the property while we hit the trails the next day. We were supposed to check out that morning. This will be our first choice accommodation on our next Mountain biking trip, not sure it will be available once it becomes well known though.
