The apartment in Pizzo was clean, tidy & spacious for myself & family. There was Wifi and a good selection of electronic & traditional games which pleased the kids. The roof terrace has amazing views and is a lovely sociable space, although carrying food etc up the tight spiral staircase was quite an art (and indeed for anyone with restricted mobility would be tricky to negotiate). The pool was a good size with a nice surrounding sun terrace with loungers (but absolutely freezing!) There is a Supermarket within 5 minutes walk which was a bit like an Aldi selling its own brands but you can get everything you need. The only drawback to the Apartment is the distance to the Old Town and its Beach, Bars & Restaurants - approx 4km walk - okay on way there but a killer up hill walk back - there were no buses running till August & taxi / tuk tuk was between 5 & 10 Euros. Making the effort to get to the Old Town is well worth it as it is truly a beautiful Old Italian Town with a lovely beach - ice creams are its specialty!
We were picked up from the airport by a taxi driver called Chicco (arranged through Owners) - he was absolutely fabulous and looked after us the whole week and even arranged a boat trip for us to Stromboli.
Shelley & Steve the owners were extremely helpful in answering any questions / queries
I would stay here again & recommend to others
Wonderful home. Fully equipped. With gprgeous views.
Terrace is great and the beds are uber comfy.
Lorraine is a gem too. Stocked the fridge with booze for our arrival. Fantastic!
We spent two weeks at this lovely apartment at the end of Aug. The Apartment is clean and fresh and the Double bed is one of the most comfortable beds I have had the pleasure of sleeping in while on holiday. There is roughly forty apartments in the development but probably only about 5 where being used when we stayed which meant we virtually had the pool to ourselves. The roof terrace is fantastic and the balcony is a great spot for breakfast.
There is currently no wifi in the apartment.
The Apartment is on the edge of town and a 20-25 min downhill walk to the old town.
There is a fantastic bakery/Patisserie just on the main road about a 5min walk away and also a supermarket(no fruit,Veg) which is handy for basics. Along the main road into town there are plenty of various shops/cafes/banks.
Would just like to recommend the night boat trip to Stomboli. It was fantastic to see the Lava rolling down the Volcano at night. You can get the boat from Vibo marina a 4 min train ride from Pizzo at about 1pm and returns at about 11.30pm. We bought our tickets from a tabacchi shop in Vibo marina a couple of days before we went and arranged a taxi back with chiccio in his tuc-tuc. If you find him in the square I'm sure he could arrange the trip for you.

A lovely compact apartment in modern complex, much bigger complex than we realised from the pictures. A 20 minute walk into Pizzo town but plenty shops, places to eat nearby. The neighbourhood is typically slightly rundown Italian but everyone is very friendly and welcoming even though not much English spoken. We had fun using our very basic italian. We didn't hire a car but we enjoy walking but for those who don't it might be too remote. Pizzo is built on steep hill down to the sea so have to be able to deal with steps...lots of them. Helped us counter all the lovely food and wine we discovered.
It suited our family and teenage boys. Loved the pool and the terrace. Located in an unusual area surrounded by residential flats.
My girlfriend and I stayed here after a weekend in Rome and we were amazed that just a few hours after boarding the train and a 20 minute cab we were sitting atop a fantastic (and huge) roof terrace watching the sun go down over a smouldering Stromboli!
The apartment itself has everything you need, the master bedroom is spacious and the bed is simply lovely (I definitely agree with the other reviews on this) and although we didn't need to use the spare room I could see how the apartment could easily sleep 5 or more.
The apartments location is fantastic, every morning we woke and instantly felt like locals wandering the 5 minutes down the road to the bakery and local deli to pick up breakfast for the day. It is also only a short trip in the car (maybe 10 mins) to some great white sand beaches and even at the time of year we were there the water was warm...pack your sun cream though as the weather was lovely!
Oh and one final thing I would definitely recommend heading to SPQR (one of the pizzerias in Pizzo square, 10 mins walk from the apartment) without doubt the best pizza we had in Italy.....cant wait to go back!
