We brought our two young children (10 & 6) on our first club med holiday for a 10 day stay.

The hotel is well kept and has a good balance between catering for adults and children.

There was a very relaxed and friendly feel to the entire complex which comprises of:
Large children's pool, large bar area, multiple table tennis tables, large multi cuisine restaurant, adult only Zen infinity pool and area, gym and sauna, bookable ala carte restaurant, football pitch, tennis courts, trapeze, archery, golf, beach and activities such as catamaran sailing, kayak, scuba diving and snorkelling, amongst countless other activities.

Kids club was very well organised and both children enjoyed it (note it WAS open saturdays). They always provided a professional and lively service with a range of different activities.

Good variety of delicious food
Friendly and accommodating staff
Great facilities from pool to beach and beyond. Excursions off site were very easy to organise, if expensive.

Things to improve:
On numerous occasions the grilled chicken kebabs and fish were not cooked thoroughly. (We notified staff about this)

The same cooking tongs were used to handle the raw chicken and then immediately used for the cooked meat to serve with. (This appeared to be at one of the food zones of which there are four catering for a wide variety of cuisines).

The life guard in children's pool was not monitoring the children. The lifeguard also stayed in the towel collection zone which is set well back from the pool instead of being located on the raised lifeguard platform.

We would definitely come back. Hopefully club med will address the points above, but overall an amazing stay and highly recommended.

Where to start?! I have to admit we were apprehensive about what our first Club Med holiday would entail, especially as we are not the most active or social of couples when on holiday but all these preconceptions were soon banished and we have returned to the UK as proud Club Med GM's!

The staff (GO's) are without doubt one of the greatest assets to this 5 Trident Mauritian paradise. From the moment you arrive smiling faces are there to greet you and this is consistent throughout the whole resort - nothing is ever too much trouble and their genuine urge to make sure the guest is happy is without doubt a natural asset to all the fabulous GO's.

First and most importantly a huge thank you to all the GO's that made our holiday such an amazing experience from start to finish and our special thanks go to Tina (from her amazing warm welcome on our arrival to her suspended hula hoop acrobatics at the white party - you are a star girl!) Kevin and his amazing bar team; the fabulous Camilla, Kevisson, Ray, Cathy, Rhyno (and his cool card tricks!) and last but not least Emelie! (so sorry if we have missed anyone)

The resort itself is sprawled thru lovely shaded gardens, chauffeured golf buggies are readily available to zip you from A to B but we found ourselves walking everywhere, the walk from one end of the resort to the other is no more than 20mins (perfect to walk off some of the consumed indulgence).

Having experienced some of the finest Mexican and Caribbean all inclusive resorts La Plantation D'Albion is up there with the very best. I am particularly picky when buffet food is ever an option whilst on holiday and easily get bored, however this is not at all the case with this resort - the high quality choices are so varied and every day there is a different theme for dinner, so much so, we only ate in La Phare (the A La Carte restaurant) once for dinner and favored the buffet restaurant for the rest of our stay - this is a first for us! We would however highly recommend the daily 'late' breakfast and a la carte lunch at La Phare, the views out to sea over the rocky headland are stunning accompanied with a crisp glass of Rose!

I would agree with previous comments on Tripadvisor which refer to the rooms being dark, however a massive positive result of this is that the rooms stay cool under the cover of the mature gardens, which in the heat of the summer is real a blessing! We stayed in a deluxe room which we found overly spacious and functional, the rain shower is one of the best showers we have experienced and the roll-top bath added a touch of opulence!

The activities on offer at La Plantation D'Albion are in abundance, but you really can take it or leave it, some days we were typical holidaymakers pitched on the beach with our books and vino a plenty and other days you could find us 'working out' in the well equipped gym in the morning and kayaking in the afternoon - the choice is very much there for the taking, do as little or as much as you please.

The entertainment and themed nights at this Mauritian gem are second to none. Every night the fabulous GO's put on a different show and without doubt the White Party and Great Gatsby night are standout evenings that we will never forget! Make sure you download the Club Med App before you go to check packing tips and dress code advice for the various themed nights.

Finally, who would we say this resort appealed too? In short - everybody! The great mix of ages, couples, families, singles, and friends all contributed to the resort ambiance - we have never been to a resort which such mixed diverse multi-national guests and this certainly enhanced our amazing experience.

We have contemplated already returning to this fabulous paradise, but at the same time we are very much aware that the World is your Oyster with Club Med - the tricky thing to decide now is which resort we will try next?! One thing is for sure, we are so glad we have experienced Club Med's addictive charm and we cannot wait to try the next!

Couldn't imagine better destination for amazing holidays even if I tried. This one hits the jackpot; the beach, service, restaurants and activities are all included and of an excellent quality! The adult Zen area has an infinity pool with an amazing view! One week gives you unforgettable memories with performances and different themed dinners with style and ambiance. However the program mostly repeats itself, which is why I would recommed one week stay or then to plan other excursions and activities outside the club. Also, if not in a mood for themed animations, there is another restaurant in the Zen area, far from the noise. In general, people seeking calm and privacy should avoid maybe the crowded period around New Year's and January. In March the weather is still great and there is no queueing anywhere. No matter when you travel, I'm sure however that the wonderfull staff is still ready for you at this paradise resort!
