We were met by our hosts as we arrived, helped with luggage and settled into the apartment. we were made to feel welcome and at home. The location is quiet, situated a few miles above the town of Orgiva, with panoramic views over the valley from the balcony. The apartment was warm, cosy and traditionally decorated, with a small kitchen that was great for rustling up evening meals and just as described in the listing. The best thing was being remote, peaceful and self contained, whilst being a few miles from the amenities of a traditional Spanish town. It's a shame we didn't make more time to enjoy the pool. We enjoyed exploring the local villages and countryside, sampling the tail end of the fiesta season. Occasionally parking in the white villages proved a bit tricky, but it was worth seeking out less touristy areas east of Pampaneira.
it was also a good base for our most adventurous day - the high-altitude hike to the highest point in Iberia, the summit of Mulhacen from Hoya del portillo. A very memorable walk, with stunning views, but one for experienced walkers only.
