The tiny village of Vescovado-in-Murlo boasts a lovely small hotel with spacious rooms in the modern two-storey wing across the road from the main building. My friend and I shared #408 which had a king bed and a twin bed, both with firm mattresses. This room would suit a party of three easily. Most of the other rooms had a king bed that presumably could be rearranged as twin beds. The 4-piece bathroom - shower, bidet, toilet and sink - was a reasonable size and there was good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The room was scrupulously clean! We were with a touring group that stayed at the hotel for a week. Breakfasts and dinners were provided by the hotel. The continental breakfasts had ample variety, including cereals, yoghurts, croissants and breads, fresh fruits in season (figs, watermelon, grapes, peaches, etc.), cold cuts and cheese and a great coffee machine. The dinners, consisting of the usual Italian 4 courses, featured local specialties and were delicious! Local wines were included in our package. The staff spoke good English and were warm and welcoming. It was a perfect spot for us to explore this part of Tuscany.

Room tip: Rooms in the wing across the road from the main building are more spacious. Ask for corner room. Note: there's no lift.

Stumbling off the plane after a ten hour flight to Rome we drove ourselves to the tiny Tuscan town of Vescovado di Murlo. We had to stay awake even though our tired bodies and minds begged otherwise. Then we saw the pool... that beautiful pool. It refreshed us and brought us back to life! Meeting friends we had dinner at the hotel restaurant - it was a revelation of textures and flavors! Pici al Cinghiale was a favorite. The rooms were perfect and comfortable - we all slept quite well. The next morning we were presented with a very tasty breakfast and we all especially liked the coffee machine! For the next three days we toured the countryside, swam in the pool, and were warmly cared for by Sara and Gianluca. It is a gem of a hotel hidden in the middle of Tuscany.

Lovely small family run hotel. Very relaxed, helpful staff, great food. Restaurant serves typical Tuscan food, local produce, reasonable price. The hotel was very clean, rooms serviced daily. If you like small friendly family run thus us the pace for you.
Murlo is a very small hamlet, a car is helpful to get around.

Room tip: All rooms are good.

Very homey, with a large clean pool. The restaurant and bar are both fantastic. If you are looking for a good hotel in the country with a beautiful view of Tuscany I highly recommend this hotel. It is very popular with biking and bus tours, if either of those are to your liking.

Great place to stay. Great service and friendly atmosphere. Food at the hotel restaurant is excellent. Best place to stay as a base to either cycle or tour generally around the Siena region. Rooms are spacious and clean and tidy. Spritz are fantastic and the Papardelle is amazing.
