“Inaccurate description and not fit for purpose!”

We are having to take legal action as the house was unclean. The owners' tried to make out that we arrived too early for the cleaners to do their job-we were 20 minutes early and waited for them to finish. I have numerous photographs showing the filth on pipework and skirting boards etc.
The pool was broken and was not fixed until half-way through the week. They refused to compensate us saying that they got it fixed a.s.a.p.-we only hired the house because it had a pool. It was not our fault that it was broken.
Please note that there are only 2 x 2 seater settees to sit on in the lounge. The rest of you will have to sit on wooden dining chairs.
The town is a good 20 minute walk so will not fit in with the idyll of a morning stroll around the corner to get your bread etc.
The house is also right on the corner of the main road through the town.
I am more than happy to show you the photo's etc.
Andrew.

Inaccurate review given by holidaymaker.
Cleaning reports prove guests arrived nearly two hours early and were let in with goodwill. The cleaners continued their work whilst the guests decided to stay for the duration.
The supermarket is 5 minutes walk and can be viewed from the house - Google maps verifies this along with the short ten minute walk into town. Google maps will also clarify that the house is not on any corner but is on the outskirts of the town.
The guests lost one full day's usage of the pool as they well know. This was due to a plastic cover being damaged. It was replaced by the pool technician and the part is now kept as a spare in case this problem ever arises again.
The cleaning issue was only made aware to us after the guests' stay. Had this been an issue and the guests had voiced their concerns, a second clean would have remedied any problems at the guests' convenience.
In fairness to the guests, their stay coincided with the end of a heat-wave in the Dordogne so the weather was not as great as it could have been. A separate dining room and extra settees have been put in place despite other guests not finding this to be an issue. The house holds up to 20 people and if the whole of a large party wanted to watch television every night, there is adequate seating to accommodate but I suggest that with all of the other facilities, maybe this isn't the holiday for you. We can, and will rectify any issues that a guest may have if we are made aware of them during the guests stay rather than afterwards.

“Fantastic Holiday.”
Reviewed 25 August 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We all enjoyed the spectacular gardens and the terrace overlooking the heated swimming pool. The house was very spacious and clean, with more than enough room for everyone. For the more energetic amongst us there is Gym and numerous bicycles provided (for all ages). There is a large supermarket app 5mins walk away (very convenient) and numerous other supermarkets less than 10-15 mins away by car. A visit to the market in Piegut every Wednesday morning is a must, app 10min walk. There are several lakes with man made sandy beaches nearby, St Mathieu and St Estephe with Cafes, Bar and Lifeguards etc as well as the many small Hamlets in the surrounding country side, most of them with a Bar/ Resturant. All in all a superb setting for a very hot country escape.

“Very spacious house and garden in village setting”

A total of 10 adults and 5 children stayed here for a week at the end of July. The house provided plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and space for us all to have a relaxing time. The children loved the long driveway for riding the bikes, the swimming pool, and also the extensive garden to play in. Most meals were eaten out on the large deck overlooking the pool - which also has a good view of the garden and driveway for keeping an eye on the children whilst playing. There are 2 kitchens which, after getting used to, we found very useful - one for preparing food and one for the washing up! The adults made full use of the pool table and bar area in the evenings. Piegut is a small but picturesque village with an unmissable and extensive market on a Wednesday morning. A useful supermarket is around the corner of the property, with a larger one 10 mins drive away. We loved the beach/lake at St Estephe with all its facilities - very clean and child friendly - which was only 15 mins away. Would definitely recommend this house for a large group. A lot to visit in the area - although we didn't get to see much as we were either happy spending time at the house/pool or at the lake. We would consider returning as we would like to explore more of this beautiful area.
