Have literally just got back from FIB 2014, this hotel is perfect for the festival. The hotel itself is literally 1 minute from the beach, 3 minutes from all the shops and restaurants & a 10 minute walk from Benicasim itself. The festival itself is around a 20 minute walk, however if you are getting a taxi - like 3 minutes. The hotel puts on a late breakfast for anyone at the festival, so great if you're having a nice lie in.

We walked from the drop off point at FIB to the hotel and were happy that hotel was within 30mins of site. We were welcomed by lovely staff who also spoke English and checked into our room for the stay. It was a small room but it was suitable for our purpose and cleaned everyday. Hotel itself is very close to the beach (3mins walk) and the pool area is themed with Bhudda decor and comfortable seating area. Food - we were on half board, very European as you would expect. Basic selection at breakfast and a good selection at lunchtime enough for 3 helpings ;). On departure, the hotel booked our early morning taxi an checked out the night before with ease. All in all a great hotel for our festival holiday.

Upon arrival we were underwhelmed by the hotel, but by the second day we loved it and were glad we came.

Pros:
- The public areas are as nice as they look in the professional photos. Beautiful pool area and a nice lobby.
- We had room 413 which was a corner room. This meant we had a balcony down two sides which was great for sunshine. It was also quiet down our end of the hall and nice to be away from other people.
- Although we only made it to breakfast once, the food was fine and definitely above average in comparison to other hotels.
- One member of staff in particular was incredibly helpful and friendly. She only seemed to work in the evenings but she made our stay a lot nicer and she spoke English well.
- The location is great for both festival and beach. It is basically across the road from the beach and we could see the sea from our room. For travelling to the festival site it was a bit of a long walk but the route was very simple.
- They had a working lift.
- The bar had good opening hours and cheap drinks. It was lovely to have a glass of wine at the pool or on our balcony, and made the stay really relaxing.
- The cleaner/s were lovely and kept the place spotless.
- Bed was comfortable and was actually a double as requested and not just two twins shoved together.

Cons:
- Two members of staff in particular were rude (a boy and a girl both in their late teens or early twenties). The girl would get orders wrong (when asked in Spanish) and laughed at us at one point. The boy would see people come in to the bar or to the desk and literally run away so he wouldn't have to serve them. I am wondering if they are the children of the owners as I can't see any other reason why they would be employed.
- It was frustrating to have to pay deposits for air con and the safety deposit box (along with a small non-refundable charge just to use the safety deposit box). The air con worked very well in cooling the room but made it smell disgusting.
- Not enough lights in the room, especially lacking near the mirror/desk.
- Not enough sockets in the room (one in the bathroom and one for the television).
- Not enough space in the room. Couldn't get around the bed without going over the bed.
- Terrible decor. Our room was a mix of mustard, lemon, chocolate and caramel. Not a good look.
- Shower wasn't amazing and would sometimes fluctuate in temperature, but at least it worked.

Overall the hotel was highly satisfactory for our needs, and issues with the size and facilities in the bedroom were outweighed by the generally nice atmosphere within the hotel. I'd highly recommend it for FIB as it is smaller than other nearby hotels and hence you get a less rowdy clientele.

Room tip: We stayed in a corner room which meant it was quieter and had a balcony down two sides. However room 413 was a bit small and lacking in facilities.

Distinguido Cliente,

Horrible food. Mostly populated with retired people. Right next to the beach. Big rooms. Don't go for a romantic trip. Kind of old fashion decoration. But big and not dirty.
Tried other hotels in the area for food, most are really bad. Eat outside if you can.

Distinguido Cliente,

Gracias.

Atentamente.
La Dirección.
