During the end of February 2016 we stayed in one of the glass igloos of the East Village. We were not exactly thrilled with the experience.

Good
- Decent dinner was included
- Surroundings were nice.

Bad
- Walk from reception to the igloo was over half a kilometer (approx 600 meters per google maps measuring tool).
- Walk from glass igloo to shower was approx half a kilometer.
- Staff was minimally helpful. Appeared overworked, tired, bored, unenthusiastic.
- After minimal check in, we were essentially sent out the door with a flashlight, rudimentary map, and a lengthy walk to our igloo.
- Very little explanation about amenities and where anything is.
- Provided literature/amenity listing was poorly written. Heck the provided map even has the Igloo Showers in the wrong location.
- Linens in glass igloo were not clean.
- While the surroundings were nice, they were completely average for Finnish Lapland. Any other rental cabin, hotel, or resort in the area could provide the same or better. And likely not right beside a major road (for the area).
- Breakfast was not good.

Ugly
- Pricing was horrendous for what was provided. My wife nailed it perfectly by calling it an overpriced campground.
- The excursions were a complete ripoff. Generally double the price of contacting the vendor directly.
- The location was terrible. Right beside a road so traffic noise and headlights were constant.

Inexcusable: The glass igloos were supposedly designed to allow for viewing the Northern Lights. Unfortunately light pollution within the resort was pretty bad. Headlights from the road nearby, streetlights from the resort, walking path lights, and lights from knuckleheads in other igloos were a constant problem.

Personally I would never consider returning. If we are ever in the area again I would likely stay somewhere such as Fell Centre Kiilopää which we had the joy of visiting while in the area.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

As we arrived to the Resort everything was magical! When u see this glass igloos waiting for u, it's amazing! When u enter though this zebra blankets are so out of harmony! They destroy all the feeling! They should have something like fur or light color decoration! Also that there is no shower in the room is minus, cause u have to dress up take ur staff go to the shower area and then after that u have to come out to -15 to go to ur room! Imagine this pictures! Also because it's something like a small village they give u a small map to find out where the reception is, the huskies, santa's house etc but everything seems so similar because of the snow that u can easily get lost! They should have some pretty signs in every path!
Otherwise the overall feeling is amazing, especially when u r at your bed looking at the sky!

I was very excited about this resrevation and was pretty let down. It is like an over priced themed camp ground. When we arrived we were given a map to where our glass igloo was and then had to walk over 1/2 a kilometer to find it ourselves. The light pollution diminishes the reason for staying here and the most lights I saw where head lights from the road. For 300 USD per night I would have expected better. On a positive note the dinner was good, but breakfast was terrible.

Our stay was at a cloudy time so no northern lights but that said everything else made us forget this desire. Our glass igloo was comfy and warm. Mobile signal strong. Husky safari amazing (do the 2 hour not the 4 hour to avoid getting too cold). In short, ignore the cost, forget the journey to get here and just do it. You only live once and you'll keep your memories of this place forever with no regrets!!

The negative reviews of this resort must have been written by either; competitive venues or inexperienced travelers. This is a stunning resort staffed by really customer-centric staff. We had activities almost every day and whilst they were not cheap they were good value for money. The negative feedback about the menus were unfounded as we were always given an option if the main menu was not to our liking. Please disregard any negative comments on this site as they are no reflection on this excellent resort.

Room Tip: West Village large cabins are great for families
