We had checked trip advisor for places to eat in North Shields. We had a walk looking at the different eateries & decided to head for the Low Lights Tavern. We weren’t disappointed we chose off the specials board and waited for our food to arrive it was excellent. The bar was full with locals, we will certainly return.

We have visited this pub infrequently over the years, having never eaten there.
Upon recommendation we partook of the home made pies and mashed potato
It was delicious and served by helpful staff. We will call again next time we are in the area.

Sunday lunch with a carry out of pies. Two Sunday roasts both roast beef. The veg was really nice and fresh, yorkie pud and tasty gravy meant two happy people. Sat in the side bar could have sat in the separate side room if we wanted but all was just fine. The meal was hot and tasty and I would say good value for money. Now the pie carry out as we were eating we spied the pies and yes ordered a few to take home. Came with gravy and were delicious the next day. It will be pies next time the steak and ale was top notch and highly recommended. Overall very happy and the staff were doing a good job at a busy time.
