We visit The Emperor on a regular basis and have never been disappointed. There's never any issues parking as the restaurant sits in the middle of a car park (I think it used to be a bingo hall), so very convenient. The menu is fairly large with a good choice. We always have the mixed hors d'oeuvres as it has a good selection from chicken satay, sesame prawns, spare ribs, pancake rolls & seaweed.
The dumplings and soups are also good with my favourite, the hot & sour.
You cannot go to a Chinese and not have the crispy aromatic duck, simply yummy.
For the main courses, we've tried most things but the favourites have to be the kung po chilli king prawns, chicken with green pepper & black bean sauce & not forgetting the fresh aubergines with sea spice sauce. You have to try this vegetable dish, even if you're not a vegetarian!
There's never enough room for desert but we go back again and again.

We turned up without booking on a Saturday evening at 7.30. We explained we hadn't booked and were warmly welcomed by a well mannered waitress who showed us to a table. We opted for a simple fixed menu but there is an enormous choice of dishes. The waitress that welcomed us was very attentive and polite. All staff were polite in fact, and there was a relaxed feel about the place. I didn't notice anyone dressed smartly, we weren't, so I think everyone is welcome here. Food - quality - very tasty, quantity - you won't finish what you are given. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it. I can only think that the people who are complaining about restrictions on 'all you can eat' menus they offer are extremely greedy types who moan about everything.

We phoned up the restaurant mid week to book a table and wasn't told the buffet menu was off when we arrived at 8 we were seated straight away and was given menus still no mention that the buffet menu was off. After the drinks order was taken we then asked for the buffet menus and was told as it was New Year's Eve they were only doing the main menu, (Fair enough) but it would of been nice to of been told on the phone or as we were seated.

Starters arrived very prompt and was delicious. We then waited about 20-25 minutes for our main mea as it was extremely busy in the restaurant which was fine by us as it made the evening spread out more and we had more time to digest the starters.

Food and service was brilliant as always!

Havnt been here for a very long time and was looking forward to seeing a few friends for a good night out .
Unfortunately the buffet was not good , All and I mean all the food was cold between all of us and there was a few of us tried everything they had to offer and unfortunately it was all cold and the beer was flat . So for a set price buffet and expensive drinks on top we were all disappointed. which is a great shame as we were all looking forward to this . Entertainment was good .
