We spent 4 night in May 2014 at Villa Blanc Marine in the Belle Sardines room. It was lovely, beautifully decorated (it had a slight African vibe - unlike the Breton weather... sadly). The bed was huge for France (most hotels only provide smallish doubles), and very comfortable (although I took my own pillow, so I can't vouch for those!). If we had had a warm evening I'm sure it would have been perfect to open the patio doors and sit out on the terrace (see my pic of the garden through the patio doors). The breakfast/reception room is equally delightful, wraparound windows and a stunning view (if slightly oblique) of Pen Guen beach.

Remy the owner is a charming and wonderful host, he is extremely hospitable and happy to chat over breakfast. We quiclkly discovered we shared a love of the golden age of liners - he has the most fascinating library and interesting artefacts.

It was a pity about the weather, but being British, rain & wind is very familiar to us, fortunately we took clothing for every conceivable type (except snow)! But beware if you travel to Brittany out of season (mid-late May), at the beginning of the week very few restaurants (or shops) are open... but there is a huge Super U supermarket in Matignon (a couple of miles away) and a small Carrefour in St Cast itself.

Saying that, we discovered a brilliant brasserie/bistro called Le Bistro du Pot in the centre of St Cast... decor-wise it doesn't look much but we had a couple of set meals in there that beat almost all of the other flashier places we had tried (especially in Erquy) hands down, the owner and staff are very pleasant - best of all - it's open when everything else is closed!

I have to say Saint Cast's oysters are THE best I have eaten in France, better even than those from Cancale. Don't miss out on them if you are passing through!

Vive la Bretagne... wish I was back there!

Room Tip: Les Belles Sardines is lovely, and opens out onto a shared terrace/garden - complete with sun loungers. Should the temperature take a dive there is under floor heating to keep you cosy!

M. Husson has created a beautiful establishment, and his artist's sensibilities are evident. Modern and well designed, this home embraces the seaside environment. We spent a few nights in the middle of the summer of 2012 and there were only a few other guests, so we think this is still a secret on Tripadvisor. The photos posted here are good examples of the high standards that you will find. Great bathroom! Highly recommended.

I can but only highly recommend this wonderful B&B. We stayed recently in early June and reviews were very accurate. Lovely rooms, both downstairs (Avis de Coup de Vent) and upstairs (Goélands & Cie). Downstairs has the benefit of access to secluded area of garden and upstairs has a view over local beach to the sea. Many excellent restaurants in short walking distance. Rémy the proprietor was an excellent host, keeping a scrupulously clean and tidy house, providing a simple French breakfast 8-10 and being available on the property or by mobile phone at all times. Could not have asked for more.

We were here just for one night, but would have happily spent our entire holiday here. We had the "Les Sardines" room, with a door leading to the back yard, which was great. The bedroom is modern and cozy at the same time, and the bathroom is fabulous. The entire home is tastefully and comfortably furnished. A consummate host, M. Husson has not overlooked anything and was most helpful in recommending a great place to eat. His breakfasts are epic - delicious!

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Villa Blanc Marine and wished that we could have stayed longer. The B&B is very modern and has a view toward the sea from the comfort of the large common area that is available to guests. Our room (Les Sardines) was large with a king size bed and a very modern and private shower room and separate private toilet room. This is convenient for two people since each room can be used independently. The bed was comfortable and the chairs, desk, and TV added to the feeling of complete functionality. We also had doors that opened to the back of the property (which was nicely landscaped) and access to a small patio with chairs that could be used for afternoon relaxation. The entire B&B was spotlessly clean and the breakfast area (part of the great room common area) was large with an oversized table that provided more than enough room for guests from all of the B&B’s four (4) bedrooms to eat at the same time. Remy Husson (the B&B owner and host) was a pleasure to meet. He was warm and welcoming and was always available to provide information regarding day trips to take or restaurants to enjoy. And in the mornings Remy served the breakfast and was always available to add to the conversation between guests or (as in our case) to provide interpreter services so that the English and French speaking guests could communicate. Remy speaks fluid French and also is functional in English. This B&B is a great value for the price charged and we would gladly and happily stay there again whenever we are in the St. Cast area.

Room Tip: Two rooms on the ground floor have doors that access small patio areas; Les Sardines is GREAT!
