Description: Located beachfront under a Guyanese greenheart wood pavilion without walls, pureocean restaurant in Barbados is the epitome of Caribbean al fresco dining. Executive Chef Henderson Butcher is a forward thinking chef who takes his farm-to-table, dock-to-dish restaurant concept seriously - growing the majority of fresh herbs used in the restaurant on property. His menus feature creative twists on local Bajan foods, like the Pure Pork & Bake with aromatic smoked pork and sweet potatoes topped with ginger onion jam, and the Flying Fish Pop, a herb crusted flying fish and plantain lollipop with tomato and orange sauce.

Linked to Divi south winds resort, this restaurant delivers high class service and meals. Being almost on the beach, views of the ocean are great. Enjoyable experience - second time we have lunched here.

we were staying at the southern palms next door... and for a change visited the pure ocean..... the good bits... its on the beach .....but little lighting so at night you couldn't tell now the bad, prices whilst fairly high for the area were acceptable... what was not was the wait... 35 minuites for some bread to turn up and another 20 or so for the main course... which despite clear instruction to serve main and starters at the same time ... did not happen.... my fish meal was a very small portion of marlin, I tell you I have had bigger fish fingers ! the total with a glass of wine was £52...note to self.. must not go here again

Having been seated at our table, we waited an overly long time for our order to be taken. When the food finally arrived, it was very good, but there was no acknowledgement of the delay. We decided to ask for the bill, but it was very difficult to get any staff members attention! In the meantime, my wife required the restroom services, only to find there was no toilet paper!! A complete turnoff!!

I am not one to completely bash something unless it is deserved-

We wanted to come and eat breakfast by the ocean and saw that the breakfast menu was quite affordable for a more upscale place (20BDS/10US for a full breakfast). Upon arrival, they were only offering a buffet instead of menu items, but we decided to try it anyway. The buffet food had been sitting for a few hours clearly. The only thing fresh was the omelette, but I couldn't finish mine as it wasn't good. They only offered fruit, some beans, cereal, bacon and sausage, potatoes and pastries. The best part was honestly the croissants as they were very buttery. The juices were very fake and brightly coloured. None of the food actually tasted very good. Our server was nice at least. When we got our bill, we were shocked to see that they charged us $39BDS per person for the buffet!!!! Excuse me? We should have asked about the price. DO NOT GO HERE! After they obligatory service charge and 17% tax, we ended up spending 95BDS or roughly $50US on horrible food. Huge waste of money!
