Me and my husband visited in Feb for his 40th Birthday, for a Birthday Breakfast, we both got a breakfast that came with tea or coffee, I advised that I do not drink hot drinks and asked if I could have an orange juice instead, I was advised 'No' and I would have to purchase this additional to the breakfast. Most cafes even offer this option so was perturbed that this was not an option here, what about the people who don't like tea or coffee?
The breakfast was nice, although for the price the portion sizes could do with being a little larger, if you removed an item for example tomato's, you would expect to have a more beans, not here.

We visited the restaurant for the first time today. Staff were really friendly but I’m not quite sure how they have managed to over-complicate the whole dining experience to such an extent. When entering you have to find a table, place down a “Reserved” sign and note the table number before going back to place an order. My husband was queuing for twenty minutes to order and pay for three kids sandwich/picnic meals and two main meals. The food then took another twenty minutes to arrive. Children’s sandwiches arrived on wooden boards, one of which was plonked down on top of a tea tray rather than removing the tray. Packets of Pom Bears and raisens were on the side. Ham sandwiches consisted of fatty gammon chunks. My husband’s Yorkshire pudding with pulled beef was some sort of Yorkshire pudding roll. It felt like the menu was over-engineered for the volumes of people present. As mentioned above, staff were lovely but all in all this was a bit of an ordeal with three young children.

There is a problem, somewhere, in the way the restaurant in this garden centre is managed.
The setting is good, the food is great and well presented BUT the waiting times are unbelievably long. 30-50 minutes for our table once we'd ordered.
The problem seems to be that there are too many tables for the capacity of the kitchen.

ADVICE: if you get to the restaurant and most tables are occupied, turn round and go elsewhere.
Don't assume ordering soup, or even a salad, will be quicker than a hot sandwich. Orders seem to be handled in strict rotation.
This restaurant is crying out for a trained catering manager.

Lots of space , great seating, fantastic choice of savoury, sweet, foods. Cakes and buns are big portions. Inexpensive for what you get. Well worth a visit. Many customers go without the need to visit the garden centre. Really good toilet facilities.
