The location is ideal, right in the heart of the old Agde and situated on a lovely square with shops and bars.
If you can, ask for the room with the balcony and view onto the river. Although the room is very basic and not thoroughly cleaned, it does have nice views and feels more spacious than other rooms.
The rest of the rooms i've stayed in have been average.
This hotel is only good if you don't expect too much from the staff and are not planning on spending anytime in there other than to sleep.

Having stayed at the galore in the past i was surprised to see the management had changed.
It is a budget priced hotel but disappointed to find that wifi is available in the lobby only..
The price is basic and so is the hotel and services.
The location on the Quai near the river restaurants is its saving grace.
Proximity to " Quais des Anges" is very handy also

Room Tip: basic but on the river and the HOT Club Quay des Anges"

This hotel has received many 'terrible' ratings and having read some, I am not in a place to disagree. Alas, we were stuck for a place to stay in Agde due to making a late decision to visit the town, and sadly, there was no room elsewhere.

Our room was just poor and there is no other way to describe it; shutters would not work, the bathroom stank of mildew/damp and its certainly challenging for anyone with mobility issues (no rails, high step into the shower and nowhere to put towels to reach and nowhere to put soap in and around the shower itself) and with no lampshades over bulbs, it had that eerie lighting that comes from exposed bulbs and, not even of the same light/tone.

But that's not what really sums up this place as awful, upon pulling back the bed clothes, it was clear that the bed hat not been made, as body hair was all over the sheet. We slept on the top of the bed. Next morning we raised the point with the proprietor who summonsed the chambermaid. She stated that she had changed the sheets which begs the question, if you had changed the sheets, then where had you got the ones we had and/or how are you actually cleaning them?

The sheets and the pillows were old, cheap and nasty at that, and so its neither comfortable nor appealing and the bed itself, well it was out of date in the 70s so you can imagine!

Would you be surprised to learn, the wifi didn't work in the room either!

The hotel is an old house dating back centuries and why its been allowed to descend into a dirty grubby place is a crime in itself! In the last year, I have found the stock of French hotels to be poor overall and you cannot trust their star rating scheme at all. But this place was by far, the worst I have stayed in over the last year in France and when you consider the price was 100euros, the owner(s) are either clueless and/or careless, they are certainly not capable of running a good business in what should be, a premium location.

They have a restaurant but if the rooms are this bad, I shudder to think what the kitchen is like!

Based on my experience, not only would I not recommend the place, I would strongly advise against staying.

The place is truly awful!

Room Tip: Book yourself into another hotel!

Told us breakfast was free, then charged us 16 euros for a baguette, some jam, coffee and orange juice. Wifi was not working, no hot water. Clouds of flies in reception. Room was ok; clean at least and had a nice balcony. Overall would not recommend

We stayed here at the end of a 4-day cycling holiday. We weren't looking for luxury, just a clean and comfortable room with a decent breakfast. The room was clean but let down by very cheap nylon bedding, dead plants on the balcony, gloomy damp-smelling corridors and noisy plumbing. The breakfast was also disappointing - some bread and jam and a dry croissant and coffee for 8 euros each. The staff were also disorganised and seemed surprised at our arrival, and weren't ready to serve breakfast at 9am.
On the plus side, the building is fascinating and gothic in style, and the room with the balcony affords lovely views of the river. Just needs to get a bit better at being a hotel.
