This is a casino-free hotel and really grants us a resort feel for its proximity to the beach and the golf club. It’s dated yet full of Portugal old times memories. Our family began to visit here from 2000 onwards. This was Westin in the past. The rooms are still well kept and the club is renewed a bit. We enjoy swimming here. Amazingly, the open time of the club has been extended to 11:00pm. The shuttle bus provides ample stops for the guest to visit around different parts of Macao like Taipa, city centre. Beside you can pay a visit to Coloane by bus (no 15, 21A). Don’t miss the Fernando where is on the other side of the beach!

The only downsides are the kids club being dirty and the ruined toys cause my kid not wanting to spend time here. The breakfast buffet once has been the most anticipated dining experience for our family. nevertheless we found this a bit downgraded. The chef will not make omelet right after you order. In a rush she told me to take the cold, ready-made one instead. The fruits were not fresh and not of the top notch. This is not value for money for the price is around MOP200 p/p. The warm-keeping utensil is pretty disgusting as it uses the plastic covers rather than the stainless steel one, making the place look like a fast food dining hall, shouldn’t have happened in a high-end resort hotel.

We have had a great stay at the grand coloane. After a busy two week sightseeing holiday including Singapore Vietnam Thailand and Hong Kong this was just the place to stay.
Only a twenty minute shuttle bus ride from macau ferry and a ten minute taxi ride from Cotai where many of the big casinos are it is a lovely peaceful place to be. On the beach, massive balcony, fantastic very helpful staff we wish we had come for longer. Beds very comfortable, nice big bathroom.......just perfect

Stayed with my wife and younger son for four days in Dec. 2017. We found Grand Coloane to be the perfect place for rest and relaxation in Macau. Having stayed at the Cotai area during our last visit, Grand Coloane was a refreshing change from the flashy environs of the big hotels and casinos at Cotai. Here you get a breathtaking view of Hac Sa Beach and the surrounding mountainside. The hotel itself has an over-all feel of an upscale beach resort. Don’t let the old but immaculately preserved building fool you (it used to be The Westin Resort), because everything inside is quite contemporary. The pleasant man at the Front Desk generously upgraded us to a waterfront room with a private terrace that commanded an unbelievably gorgeous view of the beach. Mattress and linen were of very high quality (sheets seemed new). Bathroom fixtures, baththub, and ammenities were all topnotch.

Our gratitude goes to the very accommodating staff who graciously responded to our every question and request. Special thanks to Angelo, Arnold, and Ariel at the Guest Services Desk. They were always smiling and ready to help. We also appreciate how Tonette, a charming young lady, meticulously cleaned our room everyday. Thanks also to Victor of Banquet Services and to the two hospitable ladies at Cafe Panorama (sorry, didn’t get their names). Kudos to all of you!

All in all, we had a wonderfully memorable stay and will most certainly come back.

Tip: It took a bit of finding the hotel shuttle (a small bus) because it doesn’t park in the usual places. Pay attention to the picture in the Free Shuttle Bus Service schedule because that is exactly where the bus stops. Better be at the right spot before it arrives because it doesn’t wait for passengers.

Because we were traveling with our 3 and 6 year old, we didn't want to stay near any of the casinos, and so glad that we picked this gem of a place. Everybody was so nice, from the front desk staff, and especially to Miss Rita who warmly welcomed us at their delicious breakfast buffet every day. My kids especially looked forward to seeing her every morning. They have regular shuttles that take you to the major casinos, and the ferry terminal. They have several outdoor pools, including a shallow 1.5 foot pool for kids, and an indoor pool, fitness rooms, a golf course. Several restaurants, and it's located steps away from Hac Sa beach, which is a black sand beach (although due to erosion they've had to truck in a lot of regular sand which has diluted the black sand- still nice to visit!). We were there during slow season and would definitely enjoy returning during peak season so we can take advantage of all the outdoor water activities. Highly recommend this gem of a hotel!

Room Tip: They upgraded us to a Ocean View room and it was so lovely! You get a big veranda in addition to a very spacious room.

Visited and stayed over a weekend back in August. Booked a balcony room and received a free upgrade to a suite!! Room was very spacious with two large conjoining balconies with views over the beach. Breakfast and dinner was a bit crowded, food was reasonable. Facilities slightly dated. Overall, very good.
