The Performance Lake at Wynn Macau is often compared with the world renowned Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas – that in itself should tell you that it is a pretty good show.
Set to classical music and some popular Broadway tunes, this show which runs about 5 minutes takes place every fifteen minutes, from 11am to midnight, in the open waters in front of the Wynn. Admission is free of charge.
The jets from the fountains draw graceful patterns in the air as their waters rise, fall, shoot, spray and sway sensuously from side to side, synchronized with the background music. Quite apart from the spectacle, take my word for it, its therapeutically relaxing...
Hint 1: While the show is on from 11am onwards, it obviously has the most stunning, dramatic visual impact only after dusk, say after 7pm, since that is when the tasteful illumination adds its shimmer to the waters – the plumes of water and fire dancing in the air is nothing short of breathtaking.
Hint 2: It is a pretty good idea to come back for repeat performances if you have the time - because the spectacular water patterns do change as does the background music.
Hint 3: Macau can get humid in the evenings - go to Performance Lake, judge the wind direction and position yourself to get the benefit of some soothing spray - you bet its refreshing!
With their three complimentary shows - Performance Lake, Tree of Prosperity and Dragon of Fortune - the Wynn Macau certainly must be the recipients of much goodwill from those visiting Macau.
