“Fabulous house and location”
Reviewed 6 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

We stayed just after Easter in Berny and John lovely house in Strangford and what a great time we had. The house has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It’s beautifully decorated and easily can sleep 6-7 people. It’s location is ideal for the village and a little stroll from the house and you are in the bay / ferry terminal area, although Strangford is a quiet town it simply perfect for a relaxing break. The village has beautiful little pubs and restaurants, shops , tea room etc. All you could need for a great break, lovely beach nearby and the walks on the Ulster way are fabulous plus, I recommend the quick and very inexpensive ride on the ferry across to port a ferry where a lovely aquarium, park and more pubs , cafes and restaurants can be found for a good day out. Castle ward is only minutes away and for game of throne fans this is a great spot. You may even be lucky enough to see the dire wolves on their walks in the village. With closely located parts of the GOT set in easy reach. The Cuan pub less than two minutes from the house has game of thrones door , costumes but even better great staff , food and atmosphere. There is a little fish and chip shop and if you want a pizza head up to the off licence next to the other pub (by the vivo shop) and they will make you one! Cakes in the tea rooms are great after a good walk! The artisan cookhouse does an amazing breakfast and the lobster pot restaurant is also highly recommend all literally a stones through for the house. We stayed with three teenage kids and they really enjoyed their time here. Hope to be back again to this beautiful house in a beautiful part of Ireland.
