“Major Problems at Mayfair villa spoiled our holiday”
Reviewed 10 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Before I say anything about Mayfair Villa The owner Diane Scott with the problems did her best although she was many thousands of miles away in the UK while being let down by Lycia property agency ..... Read on!!!
We have been to Turkey 10 times and stayed all over the place... We stayed 2 weeks from the 5th Sept 2015(cost £1600 ) We read the property was on a gradient..... under statement more like the North face of the Kilimanjaro. Even taxi drivers had difficulty,, and watch out for sliding taxi doors on such a gradient. On arrival at the villa we found the only air conditioning unit downstairs had failed this took two days to correct after many e-mails. very uncomfortable sat in nearly 40 degrees. During our stay the water both hot and cold went off around 20 times usually when getting showered, or flushing the loo... This was never put right during our stay even though it was reported to the agent and owner many times. The air con unit in the main bedroom leaked water all over the dressing table swamping my wife's cosmetics... The other facilities which came as part of the Villa cost which failed or became intermittent was the internet wifi and the TV system... in the write up the Villa boasted Bottled Water, Toilet Rolls ETC would be provided sad to say they were not... The next problem was just unfortunate and not the fault of the owners or agent.. There was building work in the villa across the road from 8:30am until 7pm ear splitting noise at times during the whole of the fortnight... They earned the name "The Bedlam Builders"... as I said not the fault of the owners but made it impossible to enjoy time round the pool ... In recompense for such a week of calamities the Owner did buy us a £22 meal and returned £128 (8%).... they also offered us a reduced hol next year should we decide to go there again.... It was this hol that gave the problems not NEXT year..... No doubt the owner will write something in contradiction and un-supportive of this review.... However I have been as honest and diplomatic in my comments.. and have with held some problems and issues in relation to our stay in this Villa....

Very harsh and grossly exaggerated!!! Yes of course the villa is on a steep hill and this is detailed in the property description, how else would you get those breathtaking views? Mayfair Villa is one of the lower villas and there are several a lot higher up, all reached by car with no problem at all.
The air con units are all serviced at the beginning of the season and no previous faults have been reported, how extraordinary that not only one, but two, had problems during this guest's stay! We have been at the villa in the height of the season and have never needed the air con unit on downstairs, preferring to open the patio doors and let in the lovely breeze. Who comes on holiday to sit indoors with the air con on? Had there been a swamp on our dressing table it would surely have damaged it, but no evidence at all. Not sure how a few drops of water would damage sealed cosmetics either.
The water stoppage in the shower did happen ONCE during our stay but seconds later was back on to rinse the suds off. However, we have had the pipework completely replaced and there will be no further problems. A new modem for the internet has also sorted the intermittent WIFI signal problems he occasionally experienced.
Major building work is not allowed during the season but the work up the road was merely the addition of a veranda and the work continued after our arrival. It was mildly irritating and easily masked with a few tunes round the pool. However, as I agreed it was disappointing for the guest, asked if I could treat them to a 'slap up meal with wine and drinks'. The guest responded saying "absolute;y not necessary, all part of the rich tapestry of life", but on my absolute insistence he selected a restaurant to dine at and left me a bill for 22, his choice not mine and for this reason I refunded further monies as a gesture of good will.
The guest previous to this one and the driver at Nurhal Supermarket both confirmed to me that an 18 litre bottle of water was delivered the day before the guest's arrival, more than enough for the entire stay! I am uncertain about the T Rolls but would be very surprised if all the previous guests had managed to use the entire mountain of them that I left for guests use. In the event of shortages, an order can be added to my account at Nurhal and the goods will be delivered immediately, the tel. no. is on a fridge magnet.
This guest described himself as 'a whinging old git' and boy did he live up to his name!! By the way, the offer of a future stay at Mayfair Villa has been retracted.
It is a great shame that this guest did not mention what he did get, a well equipped and comfortable villa, beautiful garden and private pool with stunning sea and mountain views as well as wall to wall sunshine.
What a shame!! This review is totally unhelpful and misleading to future potential guests and may deprive them of a wonderful holiday which other quests have enjoyed and confirmed with their 5* reviews.

Thanks Pete for taking the time to post a review, other potential guests find them so helpful. You will be very welcome should you wish to return in the future. PS there is a can of Raid in the kitchen cupboard. I am also taking some tennis racket bug zappers, the last lot were confiscated from our hand luggage, they should help.

“Beautiful, tranquil and relaxing”
Reviewed 9 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Myself husband and two children 15 and 11 stayed at Mayfair Villas for 10 days, and have enjoyed every minute, The Pool was the centre of our day, with the air-conditioned rooms a relief from the heat, each bedroom had an en-suite and the home touches were brilliant, towels, hairdryer, the kitchen and the views from the table while we had lunch will stay with us forever, loads of bits already there for you, washing powder loo roll, again all helped make this a fantastic choice, take a stroll down to the village and meet the locals they will look after you and help if you have any questions. The mountain that the villa is on is steep, but this did not cause a problem for us, in fact we would get a lovely breeze as we were high up, and of course helped with the fantastic views.

“Beautiful Villa in peaceful scenic surroundings”
Reviewed 17 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We chose Mayfair Villa based upon the fantastic reviews and we were not disappointed. Beautiful, clean villa with everything required for our stay. My children loved the pool and the views are breathtaking. Diane (0wner) was fabulous and helped tremendously. She keeps in contact with you and has a good team of people to look after you during your stay. Local amenities close, car preferable, 15mins from Dalaman airport. Many places to visit within an hours driving distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend highly.

“Absolutely Fantastic!”
Reviewed 5 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We have just returned from a superb two week honeymoon at the Mayfair Villa in Sarigerme. We cannot rate this Villa highly enough even though it is quite a steep, but short walk from the village itself. The Villa is perfect, with a superb layout and excellent views over the coastline. Everyone in the village can't do enough for you, all you have to do is mention where you are staying, no need to worry, it's well known. Paradise restaurant is very friendly and has fantastic sea bass. The Dolphin is also excellent, especially the fillet steak. The Joker Bar is a great place for a cocktail or cold Efes beer and to meet some wonderful people. Gulsen at Lycia Properties is a great help, if you need it, but Diane and Robert have provided everything you will need and more. You must visit the blue flag beach, it is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Don't forget your sun cream! Please visit Harry at the local Supermarket, Nurhals opposite the Joker Bar, he is a good friend now and can help with anything you need, plus gives you a lift back to the Villa if you do a 'big shop'. Ultimately, you will have a brilliant time and meet new friends that will make your holiday one to remember. We can't wait to go back!
