We had an amazing time in Mykonos. GIanni and Francis looked after us really well and are really great hosts. Offered us free transport, took us to the supermarket to stock up, sorted out any issues we had immediately and showed us all the nice places to eat/drink. Definitely hit up Salparos Restaurant near the bay on the way to the town centre- really great seafood and staff are great fun. Mykonos Town itself is great craic and most bars are pretty heaving. Little Venice is a definite must-see.
The villa itself was lovely- whitewashed, clean and the kitchen was stocked up with everything you needed- including a coffee maker which made mornings easier... The pool area is such a great bonus especially if you want to take a break from the crowded beaches- Kalo Livadi was the least crowded of the ones we went to.
We made the error of not renting a car for the first couple of days which meant waiting about 4 hours for a taxi in Mykonos square. The villa isn't too far from the town - We managed to manoeuvre our way down the cliff side walk to the harbour from Villa Thea but the roads are hazardous for pedestrians to say the least. So definitely ensure you rent a car- we got a smart car which ended up being perfect for the narrow roads. The island is really windy so get a motorbike/quad probably only if you feel 100 percent confident! (which we did not).
