Gorgeous well maintained lush landscape. A heartfelt welcome by the bus driver, Orin, the bellmen and front desk attendant, Rochette.
Dean, the bellman was very engaging, accommodating and efficient; provided a thorough tour of the cottage punctuated with cheerful anecdotes. Elder bellman was very gracious and respectful (forget his name), as well as D/Wayne who was very personable.
Carole Cunningham, the convivial concierge was a vivacious, knowledgeable and helpful team member of Guest Services. She was super-efficient arranging and confirming a multitude of activities and taxi pickups. It was nice to engage in daily cheerful chats.
Paula Lily, the Director of Guest Services demonstrated consummate leadership qualities – team oriented, articulate, self-assured, socially bold, expressive, energetic and decisive. She displayed a proactive approach to an issue we encountered which resulted in a pragmatic resolution.
Sherette, Director of Operations was an articulate, optimistic team leader with outstanding perspectives of hotel operations.
Rooms (suite and cottage) were impeccable, well appointed, plentiful amenities. Terrace/patio sturdy furniture comfortable and clean.
The zipper on my luggage broke upon arrival. After a couple of requests to front desk for assistance, a young man (Kevin?) from Interior Decorating Department whisked the luggage away and returned it within half a day fixed! Fantastic service!
Sugar Mill Restaurant – outstanding cuisine and ambience! Chef de Cuisine Christopher was an outstanding culinary expert with a dash of charisma! He personally served his gourmet dinner specialty with aplomb! Chef Christopher should be promoted to Executive Chef.
Desmond, the pleasant professional bartender provided discreet, attentive service with a smile.
Seagrape Beach Buffet with entertainment was terrific!
Notwithstanding, other honourable mentions include: Ralston, bartender; Vash, server; Reshida and Joy, greeters at Seagrape; and Andrea, the conscientious server with a sunny disposition at Seagrape who cheerfully continued her duties despite the crow encounter attacking her service platter! Thanks also to Philip, server; both Michaels, attendants at the golf course; Janice and Karen at the golf pro shop continue to be efficient and enthusiastic; Clive, the enthusiastic tennis instructor; Audrey and Joyce, hardworking pleasant room attendants; Paulette – focused Spa therapist; Andrew, the affable aerobics instructor; and Rick, the friendly landscaper!
Defective A/C unit in cottage – reported deficiency but not fixed properly.
Upon arrival, waited 3 hours for Housekeeping to provide bathrobes and slippers to suite
Room attendant delivered rum cake to suite, without cutlery, plate or flowers
No turndown service on 2nd night in suite, which resulted in 2 phone calls; room attendants arrived at 9:30 PM
Charge of $7.50 for cappuccino?
Jerk Pit Restaurant – festival was horrible, greasy, inedible and looked like a knotted lump
*General Manager continues to be aloof, snooty, only greeted ‘certain’ guests
Dress code not enforced i.e. women walking through lobby in scant inappropriate attire were not spoken to by executive staff who just walked by and ignored them
Substandard service at Cedar Bar; Kelly, server was crisp, dour
Overall, a spectacular holiday getaway! Look forward to another visit, pending renovations.

Played this on a recent boys golf trip. Well manicured course and is very different from other local courses. Very flat and forgiving which is ok for a resort course. Other local course in hills have lots of elevation change.

You have to take caddies and ours were great. Good advice, read greens well and worked hard all round.

Only negative was beer cost. Double all the other courses we played.

Overall a very good holiday course worth playing.

This was our second time
at half Moon and it was perfection on so many levels. Our junior suite room in the West Cottages was the perfect location. Our beautifully appointed room was immaculate thanks to Audrey. She worked so hard! I wish I could remember the name of the lady who did our evening turndown. She always had a smile on her face and was very efficient.
The person who absolutely made our vacation was Teshia, our server on the beach. She was amazing! She worked so fast running up and down the beach setting up chairs, delivering drinks & food. She was so positive and exuded happiness with a warm smile on her face. She is a huge asset to your hotel and from my observation a wonderful roll model for all the other employees. I could feel she sincerely wanted us to be happy and have a good time.
Stephen, our bartender at the swim-up bar also went above and beyond to mix us wonderful tropical drinks and cater to our every need at the pool. Such a nice man- I really enjoyed talking with him.
We dined at the Sugar Mill 3 times. Outstanding food and service. The staff made us feel like family extending a warm greeting every time we walked through the door. The experience was enhanced by the outstanding service provided from Tamika, SanJay and Paul. They were so attentive and very professional. It was one of the best dining experiences I have had. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and my birthday. The entire trip was an experience we will never forget!
We have traveled across the world and I will tell you the Jamaican people are, by far, the nicest people I have ever met. Half Moon is our favorite vacation destination. We will continue to come back to our home away from home.

It was a fantastic place to stay and with great view of Caribbean Sea. The settings is great as well and the food.

Played the course while visiting the island. Was not aware of the mandatory caddy rule and felt a little surprised when we were assigned one. Verley was professional and knew the course well. The greens were in good shape and fairways maintained well. Greens were moderately quick, bunkers were well maintained but some had small rocks in them. There were few players so play time was quick. Thought the price was a bit high for the caliber of the course but all in all enjoyed the experience. Priced as high as many high end courses in the US but the track and the amenities don't match the price. Also not a scenic track.
