At morning I like go to market buy fresh meat , fish are vegetable for cooking when stay at Penang. At this wet market you can get almost everything daily needs. over here also have a lot local street food as breakfast. During evening beside the wet market will turn to food street. I like the Lok Lok , tomyam fried rice and laksa over here.

A good place to have Penang Streets Food. Lots of varieties to chose from. The food stores only open in the evening from 5pm plus to night. Good environment too especially on breeze evening.

Market just off Jalan Burma, within walking distance of Jalan Pangkor apartment rental (15 minutes). Only been there for the day market. Good selection of vegetables, cooked or uncooked meat and fish balls, for cooking at home. Best thing about the market is the food stalls, especially at this coffee house. Of note - Apam Balik (Crispy, Regular or Banana), Herbal Duck Leg Noodle Soup, Won Ton Mee, Char Kuay Teow, Bean Sprout Chicken Kuay Teow (dry). Also, a great Putu Mayam stall in the market (Indian dish of sweet vermicelli with coconut and sugar)

Try Lok Lok if you fancy dipping raw food into a pot of boiling water. The sour prawn sauce mixed with the chilies sauce is a good combination. The satay sauce does not go well with most of the food. I tried the fried oyster omelette; even though it was fried crispy, the large quantity of corn starch used was not to my liking. The Assam Laksa was good as the soup was concentrated, perhaps it was due to the cooking done throughout the day. I would not return as it was a bit far from the city center.
