I have gone over fifty times and still
My fav rest in the coast! Affordable prices (a third or half if compared to Manacá , Acqua or Ogan - other nice restaurantes in the city).
Chef Eudes masterminds the “caiçara” culture inside or outside the kitchen - Taioba is a mandatory visit!

Taioba is located on the “hinterland” side of the coastal BR101 highway, not within walking distance from hotels and condos on Camburi Beach, but a very short drive from them. The setting is unsophisticated and simple, but dishes consist of quite reasonable reinterpretations of caiçara and Brazilian regional food, including dried beef, fish, some seafood, vegetables. Not expensive, but overpriced; yet, probably one of the very very few honest options in Camburi and most of the North Coast.

Dinner for 3 was excellent. The dishes are local, mostly seafood. This is real caiçara food well prepared in a casual atmosphere. The host/owner/chef is involved in the whole process including making you feel at home. The is Cordon Bleu (where the chef trained) applied to São Paulo beach culture. Even a simple PF dish such as picadinha becomes a taste treat with tender filet mignon as the base. The seafood dishes are also excellent. The owner also runs a social program to help abused kids in Boiçucanga. So you feel as if you are giving back to the community here as well. Its location in the Sertão of Cambury is easy to find (300 meters off the highway) and charming.

My wife and I have travelled a fair amount. This is one of the best meals we've ever had. Chef came out to chat with us. He worked at a Michelin rated restaurant in NY for a number of years and was taught in France. This is a gem of a restaurant in a small unassuming location.

Food is great!!! There's a daily menu with three options for the entrance, main dish and desert. We had a mandioquinha cream with oysters and a salad for starter and Provençal octopus/ shrimp with antichoke risoto as the main dishes. Service was very attentive and friendly (kind tense, thogh). Would definetively come back!
