We have just arrived home from a week at Govino Bay Apartments.

We traveled as a group of five, 3 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 2.

We had arranged to upgrade to a larger 2 bed apartment before we traveled and we weren't disappointed, the apartment was very clean with fantastic views. It was on the first floor, with steps to the entrance, so we did have to carry the pushchair up and down but the apartments are arranged like this for the views.

The grounds really are lovely and well kept and the cleaners do a great job with the rooms.

There weren't many children there but my two enjoyed the large pool.

We didn't find the food expensive anywhere, even at the small hotel shop, especially with the good exchange rate at the moment.

All the local restaurants were very friendly with good food, great with the kids too.

Can recommend Opheus Bar on the walk into Gouvia if you enjoy a cocktail, very well made, with fresh mint grown for the Mohitos on the premises. Much better there than the others we tried.

Great waffles and Ice cream at Fresh, further down into town, and the restaurant opposite is also lovely.

Romeos restaurant close to the hotel is lovely and the owner very helpful with toys for the children to play with. The hotel restaurant is also good, very nice owners and good prices.

Corfu town is worth a trip, very cheap return on the bus.

Only niggle was the pool area could have done with more of a clean, needs sweeping and mopping more often.

I would certainly return, I thought it was a lovely area overall and felt that we got a lot for what we paid, especially as nowadays people seem to want five star for three star prices.

Sorry for the long review but I always try and be helpful to other families traveling with small children.

We have just returned from these amazing apartments. We stayed in a 4 bed apartment with a Mezzanine floor above the kitchen. Shower was hot and very powerful. If the shower is not very hot, look at the tank in the bathroom, it has a gauge on it, turn it up and wait ten minutes, your shower will be hotter. The water is heated electrically, so wait ten minutes between showers, red light on tank goes off, your shower is ready. There are plenty sunbeds around the pool and in the gardens, We went to the pool at 9am and were first their and no one had bagged beds with their towels. The place even has it's own private beach, where the water is really shallow and because you are in a bay the tide is nearly non-existent. Fantastic staff, who are so friendly and want to chat with you. A beer around the pool cost 4Euro, if you go to the bar at the entrance you can get a large beer for 2 euro. The food is cheaper at the entrance as well. You are 5 minutes walk into to Gouvia, fantastic places to eat and drink, we ate out 7 nights and never had a bad meal. Great place for families and couples who want to enjoy themselves without the noise of nightclubs and drunk groups of people.

Room Tip: We asked to have an upstairs apartment, they seemed better than the ones on the ground level.

If you are looking for five star, then look elsewhere. If you are looking for a cheap break in the sun, with clean apartments in pretty gardens, then you won't go far wrong. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, not all speak fantastic English, but if I wanted that I'd of stayed in the UK. Some of the furnishings are a little tired, but get over it, it's sunny and beautiful. A short walk into town, or bus trip anywhere. It's great. And such a bargain price. You cannot go wrong.

The staff were very good spoke good English and although we arrived early the Appt was ready. The Appt was very clean and spacious although there was ony the two of us. The cleaners came in every day which we did not expect. The site was quiet, the pool was lovely and the grounds well taken care off. The food in the snack bar was Good. Do not buy drinks or food at the pool bar as this was twice the price. Before we came to Govina Bay we had not been to Corfu before and it was a shock when we first got off the coach that took us to the Appt. Apparently the binmen were on strike and there was a lot of rubbish on the pavements and roads and with the heat did not smell very good had to say within a couple of days this rubbish was removed guess the strike was over. When reading the reviews on where to eat we did find a very nice restaurant called Bella Mamma which is a family run buisness. Have to say food was fantastic and so was the prices so whoever gave that little nuggett Thank You, Would we go back ? Yes we had a week and felt that this was enough we went to relax and de-stress we certainly did that weather was fantastic and Corfu town had some lovely little shops for present buiying.

Room Tip: We did have an Appt that was close to the road so you could her the traffic if windows where open also didn't matter which Appt you had the dogs barked till about 5am
