Stayed and had dinner and lunch couple of times at Kabul Intercontinental. If you are visiting Kabul and looking for local food, continental is the right place. Their lunch are limited and dinners are better. Dinner buffet cost around 20$ & lunch cost Approx $15.

My wife and I stayed here in early February 2016. First off I have to say the staff are really friendly and accomodating. The house keepers on level 3 were brilliant, well mannered and cleaned our room to perfection everyday. Just a few things to keep in mind, the distance to the main town of Kabul is 15 minutes driving so you will need a car to get you in there, the hotel vehicle is only an airport shuttle. The security is somewhat efficient but cars are not thoroughly checked (only the boot is checked) and this can make you feel a little less secure. The frisks I received were sub stand and and not properly carried out. The wifi is not strong in the rooms and drops out occasionally. Other than that we would highly recommend this elegant hotel. The refurbishment is of a very high standard. A lot of effort has been put into this. Ask to see the safe room, it's very cool.

The hotel is beautiful, being built long ago, and offers great views amidst the quietness. The security arrangement is tight and it lets you sleep well. The restaurant serves good food and has local live music in the evening buffet. The rooms are clean and have a balcony each.

Room Tip: Rooms on city side have better views.

Security is a concern in Kabul and this hotel was attacked once. The security arrangements are good. Being a Ministry of Finance owned Hotel, it has Afghan Police Security.

I stayed there for nearly 11 months in 2013-14 and I enjoyed the place. The hotel is very neat and clean and we felt lonely as it has very little occupation. It is little away from road, hence it is a very quite place. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious - each with their balcony. There is good quality free wifi in the hotel and helps stay connected. The restaurant had a reasonable variety of Afghan food to offer and room service is efficient. But the food is very oily. The dinner time is at 6.00 PM with Afghan and Hindi Music. During summer, it is on the swimming pool side and in winters, it is in the restaurant. It has a gym also.

Room Tip: Rooms on 3rd and 4th Floor are good and airy, quiet.
