I read trip advisor before all of my holidays, this is the 1st review I have written on my own experience, we went as a family of 4 with children age 12 & 15, this is my honest opinion:-

Cleanliness - we thought our room was large, spacious, maid cleaned and made beds every day apart from Sunday, pool area clean, grounds fantastic, very pretty, restaurant seemed clean and staff worked hard, I didn't notice anything negative to comment on

Food - Show cooking included steak, chicken, burgers and fish, you watch it being cooked so can quite clearly see if it would be raw, ours never was and we had something every night, main buffet was good, lots of salad, salmon, prawns and fresh bread to choose from, also soup and various other cold items, this is not al a carte but you won't go hungry.

Entertainment - day time around pool was great, just enough our boys loved water polo, football and I enjoyed aqua aerobics, nothing in evening until 9.45pm, some nights good some poor, bingo evenings could be better.

Overall villa Mandi is a good place to stay, great pools no rushing for sunbeds and a relaxed atmosphere, close enough to get to both las Americas and los Cristianos but far enough away to be individual and away from the commercial busy scene, Siam park included is brilliant, only small negatives for us is coffee machine not adequate, desserts could be more interesting and have a look at evening entertainment. We would go back

Just back and we had a wonderful time. We've been three times so we feel able to give an honest assessment...

Let's cut the chase...

You get free unlimited access every day to siam Park!! That's almost £80 a day!
Vigilant lifeguards
Good evening entertainment.. Most nights
Good kids staff
Great entertainment staff... Stop shouting Patricia!! Hahaha
Great hotel staff... Especially if you try to speak a little bit of Spanish!
Free beach and siam Park bus
Great food.... Breakfast is amazing! It has everything including fresh made omlettes!
Lots of local drinks on the all inclusive... Vodka, beer, wine, bailleys, brandy etc
Yes there is a small gym... It's beside the shop... Some people saying there wasn't one.... Try looking!!

For some reason villa mandi have now decided to play loud music at the pool throughout the day.... Not exactly relaxing... Even the kids complained it was too loud! Then again there is a quiet pool at the top end.

We had a minor infestation of ants... It was quickly resolved.... By simply complaining nicely!!! Dead easy... Don't let it waste your holiday.

Lunch is a bit bland

A few moaners... One or two saying stuff like "why isn't smirnoff included in the all inclusive"!?!? Err for the same reason as every other hotel... It's local drinks only!!

Ice cream tubs are free, but ice lollies are not. This caused some guests no end of stress.. Some shouting about ice lollies not being free... I think villa mandi needs to remove them and only sell them from the shop.... It does cause confusion.... It is all inclusive after all.

Nb# whist one or two members of staff may look grumpy... .. Try talking to them... They're lovely and often work 15 hours a day!!!

Overall a great holiday, but there are one or two moaners who want a 5 star holiday for 3 star prices!!! A holiday is what you make it and if you have an issue... The staff will fix it.

This certainly isn't a 3 star.... It's too good!! ...It should be 4 star. They've spent millions on the new restaurant and entertainment complex.... So why they've been put down to 3 stars is ridiculous!! They also have a new menu and a chef who cooks at a hot plate.... Steak, fish, pizza etc... But it appears that's not enough for the moaners.... Unbelievable.

Room Tip: Room 301....the view is to die for!! And you can see your kids in the playpark!

We stayed at the Villa Mandi from 3 until 17 August as a family of four (kids aged 7 and 12). This is the first time we have come away from a holiday with no desire whatsoever to return to the same accommodation.

This was a very poor standard. Never before have I witnessed such poor standards in cleanliness. In the restaurant, staff were frequently seen cleaning tables by sweeping food off the tables and onto the floor. The restaurant then was not cleaned until the following morning, therefore creating a haven for cockroaches which were seen at mealtimes near the food stations. The rooms were also poorly cleaned, again attracting cockroaches. We had to get rid of 20+ cockroaches during our 2 week stay. When we complained to reception, we were told that nothing could be done. Perhaps employing more cleaners or properly training restaurant staff would be a start!

There was one evening when someone found a toilet wall to be smeared with excrement. When this was reported to the nearest staff member, they were told that it would have to wait for the cleaners the following morning.

The toilets are cleaned no where near frequently enough. One set of toilets near the upstairs bar was cleaned up to three times a day on very rare days, but then not cleaned for 2 and a half days. No wonder then that cockroaches roamed freely here too!

I’ve attached photos of the food left on the floor after 11pm at night in the restaurant. I was disgusted.

Staff numbers
The management at this resort need to stop penny pinching and employ enough staff to cope with the number of people staying there. At nighttime, the bar where so called entertainment took place was staffed by just one person. That one person had to serve everyone, restock the bar, clear and clean tables, clean glasses....! Way too much for one person. There was one evening when the long trough style sink in the bar area was close to flooding and when my husband told the bar maid, he was told that she did not have time to sort it out and he’d have to find someone else to report it to!

This was seriously lacking. During our fortnight stay, after the mini disco, on five nights the entertainment consisted of one round of bingo where the line prize was a cocktail and the full house prize was a cheap bottle of cava. We only felt properly entertained on 2 evenings. I’ve never seen such poor entertainment. The first choice rep said that they were in talks with the hotel as they had received many complaints about this area.

The food quality was absolutely terrible! The show cooking area was manned by just one chef. This meant that he was completely rushed off his feet and in turn, this resulted in raw chicken and pork being served to customers, including children. You have to be so vigilant and you should not have to check your child’s meal to make sure it’s properly cooked, that should be a given.

The food choice was very poor. I’ve read reviews about the food choice and food quality being poor before going to every hotel I’ve ever been to and have always disagreed. DO NOT ignore the reviews about the food being poor at this hotel. It is absolutely true.

Rep service
When we made a complaint about our hotel, the rep took the details of our complaint in the morning and then agreed to meet at 6pm that evening. We arrived a few minutes before the time and stayed until 6:30. He didn’t bother to turn up or send a message through reception staff. We had to find him again ourselves the next morning.

Plus points
There are not many to mention. The room was of ample size and the staff (apart from a few) were very friendly. Danielle and David try hard to get people involved with a very sparse entertainment schedule.

This is our third visit in approx 6 years and on our last day I ask my family if they enjoyed the holiday they replied with the best yet. It is now all inclusive and there isn’t any issues apart from being a little boring. I think they could do with evenings like Spanish nite with food or maybe Chinese nite or Curry nite etc just to living up the taste buds from rice every night. Staff were amazing and work really hard and the reception were so friendly and helpful also. No issues with towels in the morning around pool and seem to be very relaxed and just works. I would of like to of seen something like toasties and burger and chips being offer at top and bottom bars at snack times. Rooms were clean and WiFi was except able. I did find the Russian guests have zero respect with other guests with stealing the lilos leaving there rubbish like cups and cigarette butts on the floor around the pool and taking over the pools. But thankfully they left after a week.
Easy walk to Los Christianos approx 20 mins and 25mins to Playa las Américas or 5 Euro via taxi, so something for everyone.
We love it and will be going again and there is something for everyone.

What a lovely family orientated hotel. Nicely presented, clean, 2 lovely swimming pools. A great selection of food and snacks available most of the day. Couldn’t be more helpful and a good selection of drinks included all inclusive allowing you to easily stick to a budget.

Entertainment was good but not too in your face like some hotels. Water Aerobics before lunch, football, waterpolo, bingo and lots more.

The size means the children can play safely and make friends. A smaller pool at the top with lifeguard for the smaller children, and a larger one at the bottom.

Being next to a golf course gives that sense of space and you aren’t overlooked like some hotels. It’s nice to be away from the busy town but close enough to walk in to visit.

Only a short bus ride to Siam Park and a short walk to Los Christianos. Fantastic trips available including the volcano and catamaran to see the Dolphins.

It’s as good as you can get for the price. Highly recommend ***********
