This is the worst hotel i have stayed in, the staff are so rude they don't want to serve you or help in any way possible.
we went to the bar for drinks and the senior member of staff ask the young lad to serve us well he rolled his eyes slammed the scoop into the ice and never looked at us once he was more bothered about the conversation he was having with some friends. At breakfast no one wanted to give us coffee we had to try and find someone and ask every morning we were staying in the hotel for 7 days.

we had been given mitis family village hotel rooms not mitis summer place hotel rooms when we asked the rep about this the hotel just told her that we weren't staying in this hotel and are we sure!!!

The girl who was 'welcoming' guest into the restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner kept looking me up and down every time i was coming through. wasn't very welcoming made me feel a little uncomfortable.

we had meat a few couple while we were there and they all said the same about the staff and service.

The staff in the Greek tavern by the beach were amazing this was the only good part about the hotel, the staff in there made sure we always had a drink in your hands and made us feel really welcome all of the time.

Kos, one of the Dodecanese islands is a beautiful, welcoming, spotlessly clean place, steeped in history, it has wonderful views throughout, blue skies & brilliant sunshine by day & the blackest of skies by night with an incredible absence of stars, it seems,
This was the home of the Greek physician, Hippocrates the founder of modern medicine, creator of the first true hospital, housing a spiritual temple, a mental health center & a theater within the same complex, the remains of which can be seen at the ruins of Agora. You can take a trip around the extensive grounds, see relics & artifacts inscribed with texts in numerous languages at the visitors center,. There are ancient trees here, some of which date back over two thousand years & an abundance of beautiful flowers & fauna more recently planted.
Take the island tour & if you are lucky enough to have Constantine 'Costa' as your guide, you will meet a fascinating local man, fluent in 6 languages I believe, with a passion for Greece, Greek culture & Kos itself, the beautiful island he grew up upon. He will take you on journey through history. detailing the various occupations which included Roman, Turkish & Carpathian rule in ancient times to the mid twentieth century occupation by Italian & German forces during the 2nd World War & the influence that has left marks to this day.
Visit Kardamaina, Kefelos, Kos, Tigaki, Zia & more, enjoy the honey tour, sample the best of greek wine & embrace the place - Top tip, take plenty of mosquito spray, the good stuff, because you want to enjoy the best of food without becoming part of the menu yourself. Be polite to the locals, these people are genuinely nice & will make you very welcome, they want you there. A smile, a please & a thank you will open a lot of doors & improve your holiday.

There was 12 of us and we all loved it! The only issue we had was the rocky beach, it really hurts your feet after two days, so make sure you have a decent shoes to walk there. However, the hotel itself is really clean and nice! Loved the dinners in the restaurants terrace!

We stayed for 1 week in October, the weather was lovely albeit a bit windy. The hotel was clean, the staff were polite and friendly.
There was plenty of entertainment for children but sadly lacked evening entertainment for adults, it would have been better if there had been a pianist or something just to break up the evening. The foyer/ bar area really does need more seating as in the evening it was difficult to get a seat. The bar could have been bigger and more waiters but all in all it was still a great holiday.

Food - plenty to choose from and well labelled to tell you what it was

Room tip: We had a room in the main hotel our other family were in the annex.we would have requested rooms together before we arrived if we had known

we had a fantastic holiday, but i feel this was due to what we made it. we hired a car for 4 days and did three different excursions so we was busy. if we didnt keep bury i think we would of been bored around the hotel. not alot of things going on by the pool and not alot of atmosphere which is ashame as kids were there. there lots of pools doted about but this was not good as most pools were dead. in the main communial pool there was lots of dead flies and dirty, the italian resturant wasnt very nice food which was a shame. the buffet food was nice but repetitive after 11 days. lots of steep hills and walking so my legs ached every day as if i had been to the gym. my eldest daughter got the tummy bug on last day which was not good. not enough seating area and found it odd how everyone just sat in reception area as there was no entertainment at hotel you have to walk to ampitheatre which was like a school hall! the animation team was very hard working and we loved David, Lea and Timi well done to them and good luck guys!!! Mitsis hotels are lovely and i will be looking at staying at others in the future.
