This hotel is very old and in need of a complete upgrade there are no lifts to the floors in the hotel lots of split levels so many flights of stairs the main bar area only provides a small amount of seating so at night its very difficult to relax in comfort the bar service is poor only cheap local spirits which you have to queue for as there is only I barman.
there is no waiter service to speak of. the Food was nothing special and repeated daily not what I expected for a 4 star plus hotel its more 2 star than 4 star. While we were there a lot of people were suffering for tummy upsets we were ok until we got home and then hit by the tummy bug and suffered for 3/4 days. We will never go back and avoid Mitsis hotels in the future.

Room Tip: avoid rooms over or under the restaurant

We just left the hotel and we already want to come back !!!
We stayed for the last week of October, weather was nice but the staff made it even nicer ! Warm, friendly, always smiling, helpful... even for children, thanks to Lea who was perfect and lovely with them, they always wanted to go to the mini club !
Crazy David and Timi knew how to make your day fun and enjoyable with different animations. A great entertainment team overall (sorry I don't remember all the names), fantastic holidays thanks to them.
The hotel itself was great, room was spacious and confortable, with nice seaview. Restaurant, bar and reception staff were lovely and helpful. Food was correct with a lot of options. We received a nice offer for the end of the season : we could use the facilities in the rest of the Mitsis hotels for free. We had massage as well in the Blue Domes hotel : excellent !
Just a small point : they could have heated the inside pool.
A very enjoyable experience !

We spent a week at The Summer Palace with friends and had a great time. ALL the staff were amazing - the Reception Staff, the restaurant staff, the bar staff and the porters.
The food was varied and yes obviously left over food is made in to new recipes e.g. pasta that remained was used in the pasta salads the next day. The quality was never affected. There was always a choice of meats, potatoes, vegetables, salads, breads and desserts. Only once did we have to wait for seating and this was because it was raining so there was no outside seating.
The accommodation, although slightly dated, was very clean and was serviced daily by the maid. The minibar was replenished every 2 days. We were unaware of the extra lounge room which was an added bonus as was the pool which could be accessed from our balcony.
The setting was amazing - the views outstanding.
We hired first a buggy and then a car from very helpful staff based just outside the main restaurant. There is also a regular bus in to Kardamena.
We had an evening flight and asked if we could keep one of our rooms so we could keep luggage in there and shower if we used the pools after checkout time.the staff were incredibly helpful and although we could not use either of our rooms, they provided us with another room 8n the main building and had the porter come and help us move our luggage.
Why not 5 stars? One - the accommodation is a little dated. Two - not being able to use the neighbouring Mitsis hotels seems just wrong. We were at the top of the Summer Palace accommodation and the snack bar for the neighbouring hotel was much closer than our snack bar. We were under the impression that we could access these. We did for the first 3 days but then got told that the manager of the neighbouring hotel had said no! Three - we paid for WiFi access to our room for 5 days and this was fine. We needed just one more day for the time we were there. This did not work and when we complained about it we were told to turn our tablets off for ten minutes and then try again! Finally, we would also suggest there was more seating in the bar area.

Overall a great holiday which we thoroughly enjoyed!

We have stayed last week for half term. Have been there with 2 children. Definitely it's not a 5 stars standard. We had an issue with stairs(loads of them) as one of our child is just a few months old. Room dated but very clean. Food boring similar things on daily bases. Also I would like to mention about animation team. They were great. Lea was one of the best! Restaurant team very helpful and friendly.

We stayed there for the half term in October 17 there was 7 of us in 2 rooms this is no way 5 star more like a 3 star it just gets a higher rating as the indoor pool and gym but don’t bother with the gym it has a treadmill and dumbbells that’s it I don’t call that a gym like other people have said if you are in a wheelchair or hard of walking don’t bother going here the hotel says it’s on the beach which it is but the beach is about 100ft down so loads of stairs there is one lift to take you up so in summer would be a nightmare also there are loads of stairs and hills to get to your room the food was really poor no variety what they served was nice to eat but it was the same no different food for lunch and dinner which is terrible for a 5 star we stayed in a 4 star last year and there was fantastic and had themed nights ect the rooms are spacious but we had a hole where the plaster had fallen off and our drain on the floor overfilled and stunk when we had a shower this is a 5 star? What really annoyed most people was the queue for getting the drinks 1 guy doing the drinks while 3 guys made coffee and cleaned tables surely if your busy someone else would help serve and god they were slow at serving some good points about the hotel was the views and feeding the fish in the sea but that’s as far as I would go
