Most reviews of this hotel are positive on trip advisor and was one of the factors we chose to have a holiday here.
Before you read on, this review is my honest (and long) opinion and I do go to a lot of hotels. It depends on what you want from a holiday. I wanted a quiet relaxed break, reasonably priced at an AI hotel so I didn’t have the grief of going out every night playing Russian roulette with the local restaurants for a good meal. The Bitzaro Palace Hotel ticks those boxes but don’t expect a Rolls Royce for Dacia money. A lot of people I spoke to are there for the second time this year, and are returning next year so that in itself speaks volumes. The majority of guests are 40+ so generally its quiet around the pool with background piano noise over the speakers and occasional plane flying by. The last couple of days of our stay a few children appeared, they were well behaved but kids are noisy, jump in the pool, squeal a bit and enjoy themselves as they too are on holiday. You could just tell by looking round that most people round the pool didn’t approve but everybody pays their money and takes their chances. Go adults only if you don’t want kids around!
The entertainment is OK but nothing special mixed bag of opinions when you hear peoples comments day afterwards.
At night you will hear what can only be described as the noise a submarine sonar makes on films. Guests were complaining about it but its out of the hotels control. The noise is a Scopse Owl calling (look it up on the internet) it flys around the Complex after dark and is quite impressive if you manage to see it.
We booked with TUI and you will get the normal welcome meeting for 15mins day after you arrive. If you like to go on trips take some time and research the area as the TUI trips are expensive.

Hotel - When we booked the agent said there would be some aircraft noise but only in the day. You can’t hear the planes from your rooms but you do when around the pool. Hotel is 500M or so from end of runway and you see the planes landing. Most days they land from the sea over beach and past hotel slowing down so the noise is minimal and you don’t notice it after a day or so. One day they took off the opposite way and it was really noticeable.

Decking - The decking completely surrounds the pool and most sunbeds are on the pool side and some in the garden areas. I must admit it is slippery when wet (it is hosed down early every morning) and there are quite a few areas that are loose and need repair, I wouldn’t go as far as saying it was dangerous but if you are aware of it you will be OK. I saw a lot of people trip on raised areas and while we were guests some repairs were done but not to a great standard (still raised bits on repairs). I am an engineering manager and would not have allowed the use of tools as they did – unguarded angle grinder with circular saw blade in it to cut planks of wood while people were sunbathing!! And not the best tidy up job afterwards.

Pool - There is only 1 good size swimming pool and a small kids pool. The main pool is one of the deepest I have seen it starts at 1.2M and is 2.8M at the deep end. The kids pool is approx 6m x 4m and is half a meter deep. The pools are not heated and it takes your breath away when you get in, its great when you’ve been laying in the sun to cool off. Towels start to appear from 08:30 in the morning and are all taken by 10:00, signs say they will be removed if put on before 09:00 and left unattended for more than 1 hour but its generally ignored as no one enforces it. There are more beds in the garden area but put on plenty of jungle formula if you get bitten a lot.

Hot Tub - Also on the decking is a hot tub this is in a small raised area and is sunken into the deck. I cant understand why it is sunk into deck – no handrail or steps to get in and most people I saw getting in or out struggled as you step down into it.

Restaurant – Opening times are 7:30-10:30 breakfast, snack bar till 12:00 when lunch is available till 14:00, snacks available till evening meal from 19:00 till 21:30. Good choice of quality food that is varied enough for the fussiest of eaters. There is a dress code of no swimwear, sports wear and flip flops but generally people ignore it. If a hotel wants to put up rules like this and towels on sunbeds it should enforce it or don’t put it up at all.

Drinks – most reviews of the drinks comment that they could be better. There is one beer not a premium lager, tastes ok and is nice to drink in sunshine, if your a 10 pints of carling a day man (or woman) then not for you. You can try the cocktails that again are ok to drink around the pool as a refreshment. ABV on the bottles Gin says 37% but that’s questionable. If you ask for a strong drink they will put in more alcohol. No branded drinks available as an option. You do get what you pay for if you want an AI hotel with premium drinks for free then you will pay more for the pleasure. George serves drinks during the day and reminds me of Jack Dee, doesn’t smile much when you ask him for a drink but does when you engage him in conversation. Most people I observed just said what drink they wanted watched him pour it and walked away. What’s wrong with people, please and thank you doesn’t hurt, its not his fault the drinks aren’t the best.

Rooms – smaller than what appear on the pictures but are big enough and cleaned every day.
Room numbers below.
101-104, 121-124 (ground floor) 201-204, 221-224 (second floor level with reception) 301-304, 321-324 (third floor) are all carpark side rooms that get sunshine in the afternoon. Noisy rooms due to deliveries and comings and goings of the hotel.
105-111 garden pool side rooms get no direct sun all day (we moved from 111 because of this and its location next to the restaurant).
205-211 and 305-311 pool side view get sun in the morning (we moved to 305 and was happy)
126-131 (garden floor) 226-231 (second floor level with reception) 326-331 (third floor) all pool side with sun in afternoon.
141-148, 241-248 and 341-348 are rear garden view rooms overlooking kids play area that get the sun in the morning.
401-408 are above the bar area and pool side and get the sun most of the day. These are the ‘executive’ rooms and have an option of a small lift from reception.
Shower - over bath with plenty of water pressure.
Twin beds pushed together (always makes me wonder why?). Sheets changed every other day.
Clean towels every day if you put your used ones in the bath or changed every two days. They do supply shower gel, soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the room also. There is a reasonable sized safe in the room (I fitted a 12” IPad Pro in easily).
Some of the sockets in the room are surface non captive type like you would plug in a shaver and are a bit wobbly and don’t make very good contact when using phone chargers in adaptors as they are heavy and fall out. Some sockets are round captive type and ok for chargers.

Around hotel – it’s a good walk to the beach 10 mins if you walk fast and an hour along the beach to Laganas. Plenty of sun beds available. It’s better to walk along the beach to the bars, if you buy a drink the sun beds are free! The strip is about 15 min walk with plenty of bars if you want a ‘proper drink’.

Having just spent a week at this hotel with my partner, I would like to share the following observations.

The staff were great, Sofia on reception stood out, the two guys running the main bar did not! they were very efficient, but it all seemed too much trouble for them, come on guys, smile, interact with the guests a little more and don't try to make us feel guilty when we return time after time to re order!!

The food was lovely at both the pool bar and the main restaurant, lots of choice and the service very efficient. The only comment I would add is that Anne was brought to task over wearing flip flops to the evening meal on our first visit, ( by one of the main bar staff guys who was also waiting in the restaurant ), it was an oversight on her part, she apologised and it was not repeated, however, the rest of the week we noted lots of ladies wearing flip flops going unchallenged, plus lots of guys wearing beach shorts also unchallenged, come on Bitzaro Palace, if you make the policies, stick to them, or don't bother making them.

The gardens were clean tidy and pretty. The decking around the pool had the odd loose plank that jumped up slightly when you walked over them and the hot tub water looked dirty.
All sunbeds had a sign advising that any towels left on them before 09:00 would be removed, towels were left there from 07:30 and they were never removed! again, a policy is in place, but not enforced.

Our room was lovely, just let down by poor air conditioning, ( which may have been turned off by the hotel as it was October ), but with temperatures up to 28*C during our stay, it would have been nice, there was also a couple of plug sockets loose at their wall mountings which needed to be wriggled around to get a good connection.

Aircraft noise is a little intrusive, ( this is mentioned in the Hotel information ), to be fair, there was only around ten flights per day during our stay, the earliest being 07:30, the latest being 22:00.

The walk to the beach is a bit of a drag during the hottest time of the day, we are reasonably fit and it took fifteen minutes.

Although it sounds as if I am being somewhat negative about the hotel, this is very much not the case, a few minor issues to be worked on by management would uplift a nice place to stay into a great place to stay.

We enjoyed our time there, we wouldn't go back, but not as a result of any faults with the hotel, we did not like a little run down Kalamaki.

Bein back a few days from staying at this place for 2 weeks. The hotel it's self is very clean and tidy and nice on the eye but am afraid that's as good as good as it gets. If your over the age of 60 you'll love the place. If not you will find it soul destroying. It has to be the most boring hotel iv ever stayed at no music every little laughter just nothing. The pool table wasn't in use till 6:30pm which I found stupid.

And the food.... Well I ate something and ended up ill for 3 days of my holiday not the best way to spend my holiday. So needless to say I ate out from then on. Even the drinks at the bar were dreadfully horrible. So I spent a lot of money on a all inclusive holiday and ended been self catering sort of speak. Needless to say I would not recommend it and I sure will not be going back. The resuartant I was stopped for going in with sorts on so I had to go and change and yet the older folk (guys) were walking in with sorts on and nothing said. Clearly for the older folk this place.

Just returned from a weeks stay and can’t really find any fault with hotel. Our room was lovely on the top floor overlooking pool which was nice and it was spotlessly clean with fresh towels every day - thank you Corina you did a really good job.
Food was lovely with plenty of choices nice touch to have smiley face George serving it at the table and drinks served to you. Never struggled to find something nice to have.
Pool was very cold so only used it to cool off feet but some people were swimming in it and I thought it was a nice touch having inflatables to use which plenty people did.
Short walk to both beach and main strip of shops. Sea was very warm and it was lovely to walk all the way along to bar where you could wash the sand off your feet and then walked back along strip to hotel. Plenty of shops and bars/restaurants to choose from. We went to sizzle and grill and had a beautiful meal and Oasis cocktail bar which were both good.
The planes going over are not an issue at all you couldn’t really hear them that much.
All the staff in hotel were very pleasant, helpful and seemed very cheerful and they are all a credit to the hotel from gardeners, cleaners, bar staff and reception staff I thank them all for making this a lovely break.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice relaxing break.
