If you are planning to visit Philippines and your destination is Cebu and you wanted to explore this wonderful Island? I recommend you to visit Malapascua Island.
From the Airport take a tAxi and go to North Bus Terminal and from the terminal you have to take a bus going "Maya" the fare is Php 200 it takes 5 hours travel going to Maya port. Prepare Php100 for the boat fare going to Malapascua Island.
Malapasuca Legend is perfect place to unwind.During our stay we check in to an air conditioned room with shared bathroom with free shampoo, body wash, hand shop, free hand wash and free water to drink. The foods are delicious and the price is reasonable. The crew are friendly too.
They offer diving for beginners and professional as one of their activity here where you can experience and see some thresher shark,
you can ask the reception how much for the price for diving activity.
The second activity they can offer is going to "Kalanggaman Island" you can talk to the locals in the Island and they will offer you this trip and the price is Php 800 with lunch buffet. You will depart at 9:00 am and ends 3:00pm.
Third activity is snorkeling ,locals will offer Php 300 for this activity where free life jacket and snorkel gear you will begin your adventure at 3:00pm and ends 5:00pm.
During night time, the place is very cozy and calm. You can set by the shore and stare into the ocean and the sky.

We only booked the hotel the moment we arrived from Malapascua. We had the budget room with shared bathroom. The room was nice. Two beds with a television set and airconditioned units. They served a buffet breakfast -- which was great but only limited to hotdogs, eggs and ham. The facility also has a pool. Not quite big. Overall, i can say my stay here was average. The manager here was super friendly and accommodating.

We booked this hotel primarily because it has a freshwater pool. Very few hotels on the island have a freshwater swimming pool because the beach is right there. Keeping in mind that the sland caters to divers who are there to see the thresher sharks, most of the hotels on the island are geared towards this market.
The rooms are fairly generous, with a separate area for the closet and vanity table. There is no safe in the room. The rooms are very tired looking. There is a sparse air conditioning unit for ever room and the a/c unit would occasionally trip the fuse in our unit. Probably because of the e theme heat while we were there, although it would be back on within 30 mins.
You can tell that this was once a very nice hotel from the bathroom tiles . It was probably intended to be the best one on the island at one time. But, it is evident that the bare minimum in maintenance is done.
The tap water on the island is brackish and you can't drink it. So they give you a freshwater dispenser ( like the office water cooler) in the bathroom to brush you teeth with. There is also a fridge in the room .
They have a daily buffet breakfast . It was fine but nothing spectacular. We only had lunch at the restaurant once and would not recommend the restaurant. There are many good restaurants on the island to choose from. This is not one of them
The pool is quite big however, note that there are no umbrellas. They kept on telling me that they were awaiting delivery of the pool umbrellas months before. But there were still no pool umbrellas when we were there. I don't believe they were e et ordered. There does not appear to be any intent to make improvements to the hotel. The bedsheets were threadbare and mine even had holes in it. The staff tried their best to work with what they had. Staff was always cheerful and provide as good a service as they can manage..
This hotel will be fine if you are here to dive and you want a freshwater pool. If you want a really nice room, book another hotel.as you will be disappointed.

Stayed here for four nights in room 204. The room was very comfortable after our previous accom. But the aircon is noisy and the fridge too! Put that aside water pressure was also good and the beds big and comfy. Was disappointed when i asked for more coffee and tea to be put int he room it never happened. And the breakfast really really needs some work! It does seem to be made to suit the chinese. The toast is mostly just warm bread and there were lots of flies around the tables and food all the time.

we stayed in " legend budget inn" with shared bathroom. Staff is very friendly. Location is good (right next to Devocean) and at the beach.

- rooms are tiny.
- shared bathrooms dont have any soap. although there would be a instalation in each shower and toilet to fill in soap but they are empty and instead everyone has his one hard soap. very complicated and annoying.
-breakfast buffet is disappointing (vegetarians can basically eat plain rice and egg)
- price is quite high for what you get.
