We stayed at Arendsig in January 2017. We arrived at the house at about 15:30 and our beds were not made up. They only have 1 set of linen for each room, so the poor maid was running around trying to get the linen on the beds in time. Once we finally settled in we realised that two of the toilets weren't working and we had to flush the toilets using buckets. Frankie the game ranger tried his best to fix the toilets, but after two days of struggling we gave up and had to use a bucket to flush for the rest of our stay. We were sharing the ranger and game vehicle with another lodge and you are not guaranteed to get the times you prefer. The decks around the property were very badly maintained, one of the guests fell when one of the timbers broke There is a leak in the main bedroom, right above the bed, so when it is raining you can forget sleeping in the bed. There was also a massive leek in the living room, one of the guest slipped on the stairs and injured himself badly. The game Drives were lovey, but they don’t tell you that you have to pay R500pp extra to see the lions, while on their website they advertise big 5?? We had no water for two days, and this wasn't because of water restrictions in the area, it was thanks to poor maintenance on the Borehole. We left a day earlier and will not return. This is definitely not a 5 star holiday! Frankie and Martha were very helpful and work extremely hard, they made our stay bearable.
