What can I say about this hotel, it is the worst hotel i havee ever visited in my life. Firstly the staff were incredibly rude. We were repeatedly woken up by the cleaners in the morning even with the do not disturb sign on, there was even one morning where they refused too leave the room, turned the light on and physically pulled the sheet off my friend in the room whilst being asleep, simply incredible i was in disbelief! The room also became ant and maggot infested and when we went too complain about it the night manager simply refused too check the room out and swore at us, we then phoned the manager and we were told this was normal if a room wasn't cleaned for 2 nights, is it? We all felt that the staff were tremendously rude and greeted us with an agressive mannor. The rooms were so outdated it was ridiculous, you had too hold the shower head when taking a shower, the toilet felt as if it was going to break every time I sat on it. Too claim this hotel is 4* is insane. You have too pay for all facilities in the hotel, fridge, sunbeds, wifi which did not even work and the safe. Safe to say I would never make the mistake of staying here again and I would encourage others to do the same.

I have to say that this hotel was tottaly the worst i have ever stayed in Greece... i would say it is only 2stars hotel...First things first: the location is really good, right on the beach and near to the "nightcity".
Room: We paid extraroom with view(how they said) to GARDEN...we were there 10days and maybe i was blind but i did not find garden at all..
Furniture in the room is really old, functionalistic i have to say...
TV is from 70´s and minimal lighting in whole room.
The hall in the hotel reminds me a student housing.
But i was really sutisfied with cleaning!
Food: We had all inclusive....the food was not totally worth for it...Always was already halfaway cold, even when we went 1 minute after the opening time!! Frozen vegetable, bruised fruits..
Breakfast: sausages, beans and eggs always in a cold river of oil... ham?awfull..cheese was ok...greek yogurt?yes but i didnt like that eather...müsli?none..just some old wet cornflakes from last year probably...
Lunch and dinner: as i said..half of the food was already cold! less choices and leftovers from lunch(dinner)was always for the dinner(lunch)- even the deserts.
Snacks: totally boring-frozen vegetable as fresh salad or dry old baguette filled with ham and cheese from breakfast...
Bar: WHAT THE H*LL!!!! we were so upset, becouse we were staying at our hotel's swimmingpool and we always had to go for drinks to the Astir beach hotel's bar!!!
And for the end...the stuff!!!! The stuff in the hotel was soo unfriendly...On reception? they probably don't know how to say Hello or Bye... Everytime when i came to the restaurant i felt like they taking my energy with their face impressions...they standing in the middle of the restaurant, dont even say hi,just staring into your plate. It was so uncomfortable, becouse i felt like they controling what and how much i'm going to eat..They were speaking with each others which i found really unprofessional to clients... and the music in the restaurant, omg i felt like i'm in the techno club or something...
Stuff in the bar outside was terrible too. Unfriendly and everytime when i wanted a drink during the day i felt like i bothering them.. And the drinks- we could have only the cheapest vodka, white rum, ouzo, gin and sugary plastic lemonades....
And what i really found terrible was that the vendores with fakes were so brash,i understand that they selling things on beach, but why they are allowed to go near to swimming pool and interrupt your time there?!
And the last thing.. NOT safe hotel at all.. during the night, during the day everybody could came in and nobody would cares...

Revisited this hotel in August for the fourth time, it felt like coming home. Stayed B/B as we like to go out to eat in the evenings. Breakfast had plenty of choice for us to choose from. The rooms where spotlessly clean as we expected, with clean towels every day.
We had trouble with the booking agent we booked with, but with the help of the Hotel staff things were sorted out. If you like a quite hotel on the beach this hotel is for you.
Air con is an extra charge as is the Fridge and room Safe. Sun beds around the pool 3 euros with umbrella. It also has beach bar which serves snacks and drinks during the day and is also kept clean by Ellen , who remembers you from past visits and works hard to provide a good standard of service.

As many others wrote, this hotel is rather a 2 or 3 star hotel than a 4 star.

Room: The rooms are really basic and they charge extra on everything except the air conditioning (only in July&August). Fridge costs extra 2 EUR / day. The furniture is really old and the bathroom was dark, you can barely see in there with the lights on. The TV was most probably from 1995. The beds were awful and as a couple we received two single beds not a double bed. Sound-proofing is really bad, in the morning you cannot sleep well.
I was satisfied with the cleaning.

Beach: It was OK. You have to pay 6 EUR for two sunbeds and an umbrella which is okay.

Food: We only had breakfast in the hotel but it wasn't good at all, I expected some meditarrenean fruits but most of the time they only had apples or some basic fruits. The other options were not tasty either and there is not much to choose from.

Swimming pool: I had to pay separately for the sunbeds at the pool what I usually used for 10 minutes. The pool cannot be used after 7 PM which can be frustrating sometimes.

Location: Close to the beach and really quiet, but if you like to go shopping, eating out etc., then it is quite far away from the 2 main streets.

Conclusion: It is too expensive for what it offers, so I would definitely recommend to book elsewhere.

One advice: if you book a sea-view room, then make sure it is not ground-floor because you cannot see anything from there.

Just arrived back on 14th September from our 5th Stay at Astir Palace must just say a huge thanks to Jenny from house keeping for making sure our room request was acknowledged we were in room 303 and was thankful for the shade on balcony as the weather was very hot. Excellent location rooms cleaned daily we went bed and breakfast as wanted to enjoy the lovely restaurants near by all staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you especially the lady on the pool snack bar who remembers us year after year cannot understand some of the negative reviews I know there are some charges for air con, fridge, and safe which is not unusual in any hotel I would recommend this hotel just for its location alone and will definitely be returning next year

Room Tip: If you can afford the extra book a sea room view
