Our room was amazing with very comfortable beds spacious rooms with beautiful views and clean amenities, casino venue was enjoyable with a friendly atmosphere, concierge service by Rob, Josh and Barry was outstanding. We found all staff friendly and helpful highly recommend staying with the Star on the Gold Coast.

We stayed in The Star for 1 night in January 2020. The bedrooms are lovely and the location and facilities are very good. However, the breakfast was only average. For example, some of the fruit was out of cans and the fresh fruit was poorly presented.

Definitely stay here if it’s within your budget. Perfect for all; couples, family with kids, etc. it’s your one stop shop for everything; hotel, fancy restaurants, bars, casino & shopping across the road. The room was spacious, hint of luxury, excellent view (stayed on level 15) and looked pretty new. The buffet breakfast was top notch; had everything you could think of, tailoring western and Asian cuisine.

And finally the pool was just the place to be. Although checkout was at 11am and my flight out was at 6pm, the hotel allowed me to chill at the pool and I spent a relaxing day by the poolside. The pool features a bar area where you can order food and alcoholic drinks!

This is a no brainer and would gladly stay here again. Easiest 5 stars I’ve given. Thank you to The Star Grand for a memorable stay.

The pool area was very busy and hard to get a lounger chair unless you went down very early.However with patience I always ended up with a lounger and loved the pool and despite it being full of people it was lovely to cool off in and also the bar service was great.An idea to assist with loungers is to have a sign asking people to return their towels when they finish with their lounger as guests tended to leave them behind on the lounger and then new guests coming to the pool assumed they were in use.Also there was one small sign in pool saying no diving but nothing to say no bombing so kids bombed constantly instead which was annoying for other older guests.
The hotel is lovely and close to Pacific Fair and the beds are unbelievably comfortable.I have been several times and have never been disappointed.

We appreciate you highlighting the use of the pool towels to reserve pool furniture - during this summer we have tried to ensure that guests are not placing towels on sun lounges and leaving the pool area just to keep the chairs for them selves.

Although this is hard to police the team have been able to monitor this and remove towels when lounges are unoccupied for a period of time.

We do hope you enjoyed your stay with us as and made the most of our facilities.

We are regular visitors to the Gold Coast and have previously stayed at a couple of the other big names which have always served us well - We booked a suite and at over $600 per night felt entitled to have some high expectations. The experience isnt a bad one, however two factors really sat with us
1 - Breakfast. Firstly you arent shown to your table or have a coffee order taken as is usual in the other hotels but secondly as on Sunday 19th, there are simply far too many people and not enough food. On lining up at the toaster it took me 18 minutes to get my breakfast of bacon and eggs and when I arrived at the egg station they had run out of fried and scrambled eggs and I would have had to wait even longer to get them. In print 18 minutes may not seem a large number, in reality just a souring experience and one which doesnt come close to the others in the area
2 - Having booked a suite for 3 we then had to pay $50 per night for a roll away bed for our 9 year old - when paying as much as we had this just seems to be milking it, especially when one would expect a suite to allow additional sleepers in the living part of the room
In all its a nice hotel, however when hotels reach the 5* level in title and cost, the customer is entitled to receive 5* service and value and we felt very short changed by the experience and disappointed that we had moved from our usual premisies

Easy, fuss-free check-in and out. Beautiful rooms. Softest bed and pillow ensured an excellent nights' sleep. Liked how the blind would lift automatically as I entered the room. Beautiful stone spacious shower. Deep and long sink with two taps. Easy to use air-con, quiet, if you don't want it on all night it's fine to have it off and not feel hot or stuffy. Great eateries within the hotel, especially the Italian restaurant, great friendly staff. Easy walk to the main hub of Broadbeach and Pacific Fair. I appreciate the fact there is no alarm clock staring at you on the bedside table at night. Highly recommended!
