We made a 7pm booking being a thursday which was wise as the local theatre had a girls pre show drinks and nibbles before an 8pm movie show 2 doors down the street, it was crowded. Good beer and wines and very good service. Our meals rack of lamb and pork spare ribs were perfectly cooked and a large serve which we enjoyed. we waited only 15 minutes for the meal which was very good. The prices are quite high for a pub meal in the mid $35NZ range so with drinks and sweets you have an expensive meal.

Stopped in for dinner and had delicious succulent chicken followed by the best creme brûlée. Such an exceptional restaurant with amazing friendly service will definitely be coming back here all the time

Loved this place. Called in for a meal and a drink. We're a bit early for the meal, however we had some bar snacks and tried the craft beers. The decor was distinctively Irish, and the amenities made me roar with laughter. I stayed for another pint just to use the facilities again.

Set under the beautiful Southern Alps this Irish pub is a delight. The food is excellent especially the lamb rack with the whiskey mash. Everywhere we looked you could see memorabilia of Ireland including a confessional and a sinners corner. The open fire added to the ambience.Well worth the drive from Christchurch.

Restaurant in our hotel was unfortunately closed but the silver lining was that we got to spend a great evening at the Dub. Food and service were fabulous - we were there with our 13 and 14 year old kids and the restaurant/bar is very child friendly and they also have a kids menu that isn't mentioned on their web site. Pizza was awesome, fish was fantastic and the wine was so good I have since dropped them a line to fins out what I was served - what a great little find in Methven!
