Me and my wife enjoyed the peace of the beautiful cabaña no. 1 and it´s magnificent view to the Mazunte´s shore.
Food is delicious and service is perfect but not overwhelming.
This is the best place for relax, meditate and enjoy in a very private environment.

Room Tip: Cabaña 1 has the best view but all the cabañas have ocean view.

A truly magical location on the cliffs above the Pacific. There are only five rooms, each with a dramatic view of the ocean. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which is the closest to the shore and has a semi-circular deck and wraparound windowed doors which can be opened for maximum views, wind, and wave sounds. One walks up and down lots of ramps and steps (and a swaying bridge) to get from rooms to restaurant, pool and lounge areas. This contributes to the drama (we loved it!) but would make it difficult for folks with mobility problems. There are a few spots for lounging--a covered terrace with hammocks, another with lounge chairs and umbrellas, and a small area just above the ocean for two, which I loved especially. Carlos, the chef, is a wonder. He buys the fish fresh every morning and asks what preparation you'd prefer. I'd eat at Zoa every night; Carlos is surely the best chef we encountered during our stay. There is basically no direct beach access, but Mazunte and San Agustinillo have beaches a five minute walk away. Anyway, I didn't miss the beach experience: this is more like the Northern California coast: the charms are the rocks and crashing waves (but without the fog and rain!). Highly recommended.

I've been traveling around the world hunting for the best ocean views, best infinity pools, quaintest spots... and the ZOA Hotel has become a new favorite. Not only is the location spectacular, the views amazing, the rooms comfortable and private... the staff are one of a kind spectacular. I spoke directly with the owner when arranging my stay and she was so kind and helpful. The on-site manager Romeo is THE BEST. He went above and beyond to make my stay special. The chef is also outstanding, the food is gourmet and the chef accommodates all special needs; you can even design your own dishes together... Highly recommend this hotel ! Don't miss it !

Room Tip: All the rooms have an amazing view.

My wife and I just returned from 4 nights at Zoa Hotel. We are well travelled, and found Zoa a great find...beautiful boutique hotel with great service and food. Romeo, Carlos and the rest of the staff really do care about your good time, and make sure to go out of their way (without overdoing it) to make you happy. Pros are a beautiful property with a fantastic view. great food and great service. Some cons are that is is hard to find if you are driving there, there were some ants/bugs in our room each night (but you cannot really avoid that in this part of the world), we did need some shade on our room (cabana 1)'s balcony to truly enjoy the view (no shade...total sun exposure until late in the day), and it can be a bit too quiet (we were the only ones there one night which was a bit nice but also a bit too quiet where we knew the staff was waiting around only for us).
We would highly recommend this hotel, and if you are lucky, ask for Cabana 1 (despite the shade comment).....the views are amazing.

Room Tip: Ask for Cabana 1....the best ocean views

We had booked for only 2 nights, but extended to 4. The hotel has only 5 or maybe 7 cabana rooms so is intimate & personal. We booked the honeymoon suite which had an ocean view at tree level, with birds landing in the tree at the edge of the wooden balcony (perfect for an evening beer). The room (just about) gives a sunrise & sunset view. A great way to wake up. The sound of the sea below was wonderful. The room is comfortable, modern & romantic. It only has a shower and you stand in a round bath tub (so clearly the water pressure didn't work for a bath too - no bath taps & no plug). The food was top, top quality and the chef & waiting staff were great. The front of house manager is really attentive, professional and helpful and he is an important part of what makes the place a top destination.
