My wife and I just returned from 4 nights at Zoa Hotel. We are well travelled, and found Zoa a great find...beautiful boutique hotel with great service and food. Romeo, Carlos and the rest of the staff really do care about your good time, and make sure to go out of their way (without overdoing it) to make you happy. Pros are a beautiful property with a fantastic view. great food and great service. Some cons are that is is hard to find if you are driving there, there were some ants/bugs in our room each night (but you cannot really avoid that in this part of the world), we did need some shade on our room (cabana 1)'s balcony to truly enjoy the view (no shade...total sun exposure until late in the day), and it can be a bit too quiet (we were the only ones there one night which was a bit nice but also a bit too quiet where we knew the staff was waiting around only for us).
We would highly recommend this hotel, and if you are lucky, ask for Cabana 1 (despite the shade comment).....the views are amazing.

Room Tip: Ask for Cabana 1....the best ocean views

We had booked for only 2 nights, but extended to 4. The hotel has only 5 or maybe 7 cabana rooms so is intimate & personal. We booked the honeymoon suite which had an ocean view at tree level, with birds landing in the tree at the edge of the wooden balcony (perfect for an evening beer). The room (just about) gives a sunrise & sunset view. A great way to wake up. The sound of the sea below was wonderful. The room is comfortable, modern & romantic. It only has a shower and you stand in a round bath tub (so clearly the water pressure didn't work for a bath too - no bath taps & no plug). The food was top, top quality and the chef & waiting staff were great. The front of house manager is really attentive, professional and helpful and he is an important part of what makes the place a top destination.

This is a small boutique hotel in a small place at the pacific coast named Mazunte.
There are only a few bungalows with excellent junior suites with an magnificent view over the landscape. The staff let you feel as home the whole stay there. Marcos the manager helps you with all problems you have and Carlos the chef is preparing you a very personalized and fresh seafood every day. I had no better seafood before. The pool area and dining area are both matchless. The only thing I have to say is that the hotel
Is nothing for older people who are not good by walking because of the hillside location of the whole hotel arrangement you have a lot of stairs.

Room Tip: Bungalow No. 1 with view of all sides!

If you want to jet ski, parasail, watch television, get splashed on by kids in the pool....go someplace else. If you want to relax, enjoy breathtaking views, fall asleep in a hammock, lay on the beach, decompress, be somewhere where nobody can find you...this is the place.
We had cabana #1, with beautiful views, that made us never want to leave. The staff and chef are beyond compare. Marcos, the manager, makes sure that your every need is taken care of, the 2 chefs are available to make anything you desire, and prepare special fresh fish dishes that are unbelievable.
The little sleepy town of Mazunte, and a large local beach is just down the driveway, and a block away. It is fun to walk the little town, talk to the friendly local people and just chill out. This is a remote paradise, with 5+ star facilities and service.

Our trip to Zoa had very different expectation of the place. It turned out to be a piece of heaven on earth. The personalized service and fresh seafood every day for our meals was outstanding! The views are like postcards' and watching occasional whales swim below us from our balcony was amazing. 50 minutes taxi ride from Huatulco airport.
