This place is a little oasis of calm off junction 25. Refurbished rooms with good space, spotlessly clean, very comfy bed with the best pillows of any hotel on this six day trip. Fridge in the room too, which is nice. Superb shower and again the most generous brekkies of the trip. Why they can't sort out binning single use plastic tubes of shampoo in favour of permanent dispensers is beyond me. Lovely (British) staff, especially the breakfast team. Thank you!

Not the prettiest building or in the most attractive of locations, nor is it dripping in luxury, however having just stayed for one night for just over £40 (accommodation only) I believe based on value for money compared to its peers 5 stars are deserved although the air con nearly saw a star deducted.

It is a stones throw from M1 (although not right on M1 as the neighbouring Best Western) off the busy Bostocks Lane. The first thing to say is that the car park is quite large and accessed through automatic barrier (code required to leave so some for of security). I noticed, whilst we waited for someone to check us in, an iced water fountain in the foyer useful as it was 30 degrees when we arrived. The room was large (I think it was a family room) and modern, with a bathroom (with bath) and separate toilet. There was also a fridge (note not mini bar) which i think is always a great addition as we could keep our drinks cool (there were also two bottles of complimentary water, one still one sparkling). Also an easy to use safe, and thoughtful lighting especially around the headboard. The wifi worked well and unlike another chain hotel we had stayed at recently you only needed to insert your email once and the server recognised you subsequently. We did not eat here, we went to Grill25 next to the Best Western although crossing the busy Bostocks Lane is not easy, there are no pedestrian crossing so I doubt it would be easy for elderly or families.

The air con was fine, but unable to be controlled within the room. Whilst we were happy during the evening we wanted to turn down the noise overnight, but having spoken to reception the only option was for them to switch off (at reception) or we could move rooms, we were too settled to do that. This was the only downside, but would definitely return if we were up this way again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful but the room was looking worn and stains on carpet and walls and the bathroom flooded due to the shower drain not being sufficient to clear water away fast enough maybe it was partially blocked but couldn't see anything the breakfast was not brilliant either some of the food primarly the bacon and fresh tomato had been under the hot lamp so long it was dry and when the chef refilled the serving dishes he simply poured the food on top of the old food the bed was also not upto the standard expected was supposed to be a queensize bed and was actually 2 singles pushed together

I recently spent 5 nights there while visiting family locally.
While having nothing major to criticize , I also have nothing major to compliment.
A very average hotel overall.
Staff were reasonably friendly and polite.
Service in the bar was generally slow.

Due to location I will use again , but will try the nearby Best Western first.
