An average hotel for the money, but the view in the rooms with
" Burgblick" is simply stunning. The castle and town across the river are lit up at night, and the Salzach river is directly beneath the hotel window. The river facing rooms offer a full length double window which opens fully to offer the incredible view of the " longest castle in the world" as they state here. A 5 minute walk across the bridge takes you into the beautiful Bavarian town of Burghausen, and the Gasthof Post on the beautiful market square offers good Bavarian and Austrian food, as well as a few salads etc. Hotel Burgblick offered us free beer vouchers to accompany a meal at the "Post" with the room key on arrival. Overall a decent hotel for the money, , albeit a bit dated, but the town of Burghausen, the river, castle and the outstanding view are the reason for the positive review. Free bathrobes and a beautiful sun terrace, as well as a choice of spa / beauty treatments add a little touch of luxury to the otherwise average feel. The staff are very helpful and friendly. A word of warning : the church bells next door ring at 6am, but it didn't bother us. Parking is available immediately next to the hotel. Definitely book a room with castle view !

Nice location with view on the “Burg”, perfect if you want to have a stroll over the bridge from Austria to Germany and in the old city of Burghausen.
Hotel rooms have the view on the same side, location is really charming and fairy like. Somewhat strange cut of space in the rooms. Breakfast more modest than rich.

The Hotel is nice enough, stayed there for a week only (as for the next week it was fully occupied, that says its a very good hotel).

Location : Located right on the bank of the river Salzach, it is very scenic. The Burghausen castle is right in front of your window every time you look outside. Located at 3 minutes walking distance from city center, it is a very convenient location.

Hotel: The hotel is small, nicely maintained, and buzzing all the time with guests, so you feel safe. At the same time it is not noisy as number of guests are not high due to the size of hotel. They provide free parking space too.

Rooms: Rooms were small (as most european hotels). The rooms had enough natural light to make you feel comfortable (during summer it might be like sauna room if you forget to use window blinds before leaving room for the day). The furniture were maintained and were in good condition.

Bathroom: Clean and maintained. Shower was nice, towels changed daily of requested (what else do you need for the bathroom)

Wi-Fi : Wi-Fi was available at room and lobby, worked smooth. Although slow during evening hours, but manageable.

Breakfast : Enough options for the breakfast (Average if not great).

Reception: Very helpful and prompt. (5 stars for these ladies).

All in all a nice hotel to stay if you want to have a nice view (rather stunning view) and still want to be near the city center. Recommended.

Room Tip: Request for rooms on the river side, All rooms on the west have nice view of the castle and river.

Very nice, well kept hotel garni, quiet location with amazing view of the castle.Nice spacious rooms as well as bathrooms. Great breakfast buffet. Very nice staff, especially the cleaning team. They even rescued the stuffed animals of our youngest one and called us right away - thank you!The Hotel Post, which belongs to the hotel as well, across the river, was very good as well.

Room Tip: Choose the more expensive room with view - it's quieter and the view is really beautyful!

Absolutely stunning views of the castle, both at day and night time. Rich breakfast buffet, large clean room, free fast wifi. They also give you free beer coupon in hotel post restaurant across the river. Only negative point was the very limited parking space, which gets full quickly in the evening and forces you to park down the street somewhere else.
