Great spot!
Rooms only 21/2 star but O. K. Beds are hard & not great for people with back problems.
Hotel facility 4 star.
Let me warn you about when you go through customs in Mexico. Time share hounds are just through the double doors in the airport. Just say NO! Go directly to the bus. (However if you want to endure high pressure sales + get free or discount day adventure. Then speak to them)
We stayed in building # 5 for adults. Highly recommend. Hot water for showers plentiful. But the rooms are icky, damp and mold stains on the walls. The A/C works really well. . Very quiet & only 2 min walk through the tropical flora on the hotel grounds to the beach.
Beach. W0W! Longer than we could walk. Clean. Brown sand. Beautiful, big waves. . Vendors, though are a bit annoying. Just say "Manyana". .
Building #6 is secluded, adjacent to the adults. Just for quieter families. The adult pool is pleasant, but un-heated, as were all of the pools. .
Building # 1 & 2 are for the noisier crowds with ocean view. Lots of activities & Pools. Bars.
Shopping: the town of Breaus is a nice walk about 20min from the hotel. For older ones take the street & then a taxi back to the Hotel for $ 4.00 younger ones return by the beach. Make sure you speak to the local monkey. Look up!
Trips: The Kon tiki tour was 70us and was a long boat ride to 2 snorkeling sites (no coral, plant life or anything to really see). The guides gave 5 to 10 minutes and they rushed us to the next place. Very rough sand and short lunch and back on the noisy boat. We do not recommend this exertion as you don't get the snorkeling as Nolitours advertised.
We took the signature dolphin with sea lion excursion and really enjoyed it. But they charge 25us per photo. So if a family member can take pictures, that's good. We took the canopy tour, which includes hiking, ziplining, and repelling. Quite challenging physically, but fun. Pictures are expensive too, and you can’t take camera’s along on the tour, so you're at their mercy for photos wearing all the climbing gear.

Message: Too expensive. Not many we spoke to took advantage. If you really want a message, just go down the street & it is ½ price.
Shows: We took in one on Sunday. Lame!! However the other shows we supposedly really good, we were just took tired from our day trips & sun.
All in all we had a good trip at Royal Decameron & would return with our Teens for 2 weeks just to experience the Zip-line/Canopy tour.

My friend and I decided to go for a week in the sun. Our sons had been to the Decameron before and enjoyed it so when we found the GREAT deal, we went for it. The rooms were clean but plain. The maid service was good as were the waiters and bartenders. The buffet food was decent but the Italian a la carte was excellent. There were lots of activities to participate in if you wanted to and a show every night. It's within walking distance of Bucerias and their market. Volleyball on the beach, an excursion, a kayak ride, tennis...there were only two things that would have made it better.....a swim up bar and waiter service to the beach chairs. Other than that, we had a great week.

We had been down to Royal DeCameron 3 years ago with our boys (17+19) and stayed in Blok 6. We had a great time and the Boys loved the Disco.
This time it was just us and we were in Blok 3 closer to the beach. We were on the ground floor and did not face the sun at all so our room was always dark and moist...no problem..the bed was comfy with the foamy and we were out of the room all the time...drying out your bathing suit and towel took way longer though!
BEACH-we spent all our time on the beach..the loungers are soo uncomfortable..people would buy an air mattress and put them on the loungers...me.. I spotted about 12 mesh loungers by the flea market..so I dragged 2 over under a covering and put our towels down at @ 7AM. We were so comfy on the beach!!
Wave surfing is magic..just don't wear your sunglasses on your head when you go in! Vendors are Cool.bought silver from them..look for 925 on the silver..if you don't care for them .just say"NoGracios"
RESTAURANTS-Italian we always loved..alot classier with the nice wineglasses...ceasar salad I could eat 2 orders!! We tried Thai...very good seafood and the nice Waiter brought over more seafood for me for no reason..we were impressed!
TRANSPORT-we walked home from Burcerius after a $4 ride there..bought silver at the fleamarket and held a month old baby chauaua(sp) pup for awhile for a local so she could have a break and then had beers on the beach at a cafe and then walked back along the beach.
Such a big Resort but everything is so close...service and housekeeping... the best!
We have been here twice and already recomending to friends!
My sister turns 60 in 2 years and is looking for a resort to go to with about 16 of us....I told her "YES" this is the place!!!

Enjoyed every moment of the stay. Buffets were great. Coffee was AWESOME. Service top notch. Spotlessly clean. Staff friendly without being ingratiating. Spa staff highly skilled. Looking forward to our next holiday there!
