“a little bit of heaven”
Reviewed 20 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We had a relaxing stay here for 3 nights. The house is outside Oliveira and is really lovely. Juliet had milk, a bottle of wine and her own grape juice in the fridge on arrival! She also had some fresh oranges for breakfast juice. Very generous and welcoming host. The bed is so comfortable. The pool is stunning.
The grounds were surrounded in grapes, peaches and figs all of which were in season and we could pick and eat.
We barbecued each night and found some lovely food shops locally.
We took a trip tp Pinhao on Juliets suggestion. Amazing.

“Charmingly stylish hidden gem”
Reviewed 22 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We booked this for a peaceful long weekend away, knowing nothing about the area.
It was pleasantly easy to find and the local town offered everything we could have needed to equip ourselves for self catering as well as a delicious good value lunch.

The accommodation is stylish and immaculate but it is the little things that always make the difference, particularly impressive were the fresh home grown oranges for making juice, the superbly comfortable bed and the top quality towels and linens.

The gardens and olive groves around the house were charming and offered lots of natural entertainment including a very vocal cuckoo, lots of butterflies and wild lupins and lavender.

Rob and Juliet, the hosts, could not have been more helpful and were a good source of information about the area, giving a great restaurant recommendation.

We will be back!

“A truly tranquil place to stay”
Reviewed 31 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

A delightful little house with pretty bedroom and shower room upstairs and down a lovely wood staircase to a small but very well equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting room with stunning views over the Quinta. Juliet and Rob were kind hosts and very helpful in giving advice about shops and "places to visit".

“Wonderful comfortable, modern accommodation in the 'real' Portugal”
Reviewed 28 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We had a great three days at the quinta of Rob and Juliet who provided everything we could wish for including olive oil from their own olive groves. The self-contained rental house (one of three) on their huge quinta had everything we needed. A comfortable bedroom with ensuite shower room; a large sitting room and very well equipped kitchen. Outside there is a nice terrace with views over their extensive property which boasts a huge swimming pool, olive groves and grape vines, orange and lemon trees. This area is in the quieter part of Portugal and is a welcome break from the touristy coastal resorts - clean air, good climate and friendly people. Rob and Juliet live on site and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The surrounding area has lovely restaurants serving traditional food and lovely local wines - we were particularly impressed with the wine from the nearby Dao region.
Overall this was a great break and we would surely return.
