The hostal is in a fantastic location, ten minutes walk to the park entrance. The bungalows are simple but clean, have a lovely porch looking out to the forest, and have a fan & hot water. The restaurant serves basic but pleasant food & the staff were very helpful. The best part of the hotel are the incredible grounds. Nestled in the forest, it's a wonderful, peaceful escape. There is a beautiful natural water pool in the rainforest, wonderfully refreshing! We were given really helpful information about the park too. I will definitely be back when I want to escape the bustle! Parque El Imposible is also wonderful, there are plenty of beautiful hikes & viewpoints. You could easily spend a couple of days at this lovely hotel while you explore the park.

10km off the coast road via the south entrance to the park is this hidden gem of a lodge, on the edge of El Salvador's only major protected wilderness expanse. There were, I think 2 or 3 cabins in the grounds. You can also camp. When we were there, it was us and one other group staying.
Our cabin was basic but sound. Showers were pretty cold, despite the solar. We had a double bed and 2 sets of bunks for the kids. There was a fan which did help keep the warm air moving around. Nice hammock outside our hut.
You're there to hike. And the cafe in the main part of the lodge serves wholesome food, beers and jellies. What more do you want?
Its also really good value and the staff want to please.

I was surprised to see this lodge had not been reviewed. It is very close to the southern enterance to the park. The lodge is community run and has rustic cabins that can fit many people. Thet have a good restaurant with decent sizes and free coffe at breakfast. The cabins are surrounded by nature and have comfy beds as well as solar powered showers. We got a fair deal that included meals, park entry and a guide. Thet staff was helpful and attentive. They also sell coffee from local farmers at a very good price. They do take credit cards, but cell service is spotty so email responses take time. They really try to serve here and should be supported. It us very close to the Guatemalan border and Barra de Santiago so a good day trip.
