My children (11 & 13) enjoyed feeding the huge cat fish in the lake surrounding one of the boat temples. If you enjoy seeing the wide variety of differently designed Thai Temples then this one has to be on the list!

This temple is very unusual as it has a pagoda built on a boat on the lake. It is very eye catching and besides the architecture there's a gorgeous surrounding landscape to enjoy see

Also called Wat Sraprasansuk, this temple has a very unique selling point. The main ubosot is built upon the image of a barge, one of which rests on a lake. Perfect chance to feed some fish and take in a relaxing atmosphere. Quite difficult to get to without private transport, but if you have rented a car, it is worth the journey. Not too far from town/airport.

A little harder to get to as it is on the outskirts of town, this is a wat with a difference. We have visited over one hundred wats in Thailand, and you tend to get a bit picky after a while. This wat is definitely worth the visit. Apart from the fact that it is so different from anything we had seen before, the craftsmanship of the oarsmen carvings was really unique. If you are in Ubon Ratchathani, this is something that is very special and should not be missed.
