I don't normally travel in Europe in the summer because of crowds, but had reason to do so this year. One knows to expect heat, crowds and noise. Tamariu is not a party resort for the young who seek only to get blitzed and get laid. There are plenty of those further south.

Caleta is not a luxury hotel, which is fine by me because on this occasion I was not looking for luxury, but it was clean, very central for beach and shops, and had no major flaws. The staff were outstanding! Five out of five for their attention to customer questions and concerns!

Our room had a small balcony, which was nice. Private bathroom with shower and loo, which was all we needed. Tamariu is lovely - a little gem of forested hillsides and blue sea. Very busy on weekends with visitors from elsewhere in Spain, and parking is an issue, albeit solvable unless you're allergic to walking.

Noisy on weekends because the Spanish eat late, very late! - and party afterwards. But the noise was not UK-yobbo level by a long shot.

Knowing that mosquitoes love me with a passion, I travel with my own 2-person mozzie tent for sleeping. Got bitten anyway on terraces while out for cocktails and eating dinner. Sea breezes do not enter the room from the balcony, which is a shame, but that's comes from the building's location, set back in a small cove. Our room had a ceiling fan, which was fine for me at temps of 30°C max during the day and 20°C at night.

Feeling overheated or not is a personal issue so not possible to cover everyone's preferences.

All in all, great value for money, and it was always a pleasure to interact with the staff.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor, no particular view.

This is a great hotel. Nice and quiet off the main street but not far from the beach. The owners are incredibly nice and helpful and were always on hand to answer any questions we had. Service was wonderful. The room was spacious but unfortunately the balcony was very small. The roof terrace is great with very comfortable sun loungers. We'll be back here next time we viist this region.

Linda and Francesco, who run this small hotel are incredibly nice and helpful. Service was wonderful. This is a great place to stay in Tamariu, as it is mere minutes from the sea and restaurants. The room was spacious and both it and the bathroom were spotlessly clean. We had room 103 and if I had one criticism it would be the size of the terrace. It was very small. We were staying for a week and like to hang out in the evening on a terrace or balcony. People who were staying for shorter periods got a much larger space. The hotel had a lovely roof terrace, which was quiet, but not always open. There is no breakfast available, but there is complementary coffee and packaged cakes. However, this was not too much of a problem, as there is a Spar and bakery nearby, which opens at 8 am. Tapas and light meals are available throughout the day at the hotel, courtesy of Alphonso. We availed of this on a couple of occasions and the food was really good. All in all this was a lovely hotel, in a nice quiet location, with easy access to all the amenities of Tamariu. Parking is limited and is on a steep slope. Some patrons seemed to think that it was OK to take up two of these spaces or to park blocking in other cars. There was plenty of free parking nearby, but these inconsiderate people did not bother to find it. Despite these little niggles, we really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be returning!

Room Tip: Don't go for rooms 103 or 203 as the terraces are very small. Location is quiet.

Our one night stay here couldn't have been better. Room spotless and pleasant. Staff super friendly and obliging. They found a charger for our phone and went to great trouble making sure we had a taxi booked to pick us up. Highly reccomended.

We had nice visit here with very good access to many beaches. The breakfast were very good and the staff were friendly. Dining out at other restaurants required a little driving but not bad. The only downside was the wifi- i know you dont come here to surf the web but we were not going out all night hitting the hotspots and like to use the evening after dinner to plan our next day events and sometimes to skype back home-- The wifi was very spotty in the rooms-which the staff simply shrugged and said sorry that is the way it is-You had to goto the lobby to get a strong signal- This hotel was fairly expensive and everything else was very nice - This was a minor annoyance that seems like they could fix very easily-
