Make sure you have good shoes or boots as the path is rocky with lots of gravel to slide on. My wife and I are both 70 and it took us about 25 minutes to climb to the top, taking it steadily. Once there you can see down into the crater where people have written names, love messages etc using stones to make the letters. We chose to walk round the rim which allows you to see all round the area as you go. This took us another 30 minutes as we kept stopping to enjoy the splendid views. Going down is in some ways harder as it's easier to slide on the lose gravel. Just take it steadily and it's not that hard though. I wouldn't recommend the trip for small children, however, who might suddenly demand to be carried!
