We are just home from spending 2 absolutely stunning weeks at Casa Palmera. We have holidayed in Lanzarote for many years, staying in a variety of types of accommodation and locations across the island; without a shadow of a doubt 'Casa Palmera' has been the best so far.
The Villa is spacious; it accommodated our group of 4 adults, 2 children and a baby with ease and allowed us more than enough space for our three generations to enjoy occasional 'own time'.
It is fully equipped; another reviewer has listed most of the items to be found there. We have tried to think of something that might have been absent but simply cannot come up with anything; it was like finding your home requirements replicated but in the sunshine.
The Villa, its garden, patios and pool were absolutely spotless and it was serviced regularly during our fortnight stay. Bed linen and towels were changed several times and the heated pool was maintained by a poolman service.
The location, not far from the marina, is the better end of Playa Blanca as it has the convenience of the promenade for easy access to beaches, cafes, restaurants, shops and entertainment. The villa is in a quiet cul de sac and that gave us 14 nights of undisturbed sleep; it really was so peaceful.
The owners, Anne and David, are clearly committed to ensuring guests have a wonderful holiday. They are on hand for advice, guidance and help. You could say that they are another of the villas assets.
Value for money ? Most definitely !
I feel I must give some update on the last reviewers references to building work and the freezer because our holiday followed almost directly after their holiday. Yes, there is a villa, in construction, directly across the street but it is almost complete and down to finishing touches which produce little or no noise, dust or disturbance. There is also a plot clearance about 150 metres away but, again, it is at an advanced stage and though a JCB type excavator was occasionally in use during our stay it was not at all noisy, dusty or annoying. Building work in Spain is not rushed; an hour one day, perhaps half an hour the next. In all, nothing to be overly concerned about.
The Freezer, like all other appliances in the villa worked perfectly.
In summary, a wonderful holiday in a superb villa which is a credit to the owners and we hope to stay there again.
My wife and I have just returned from a week’s stay in Casa Palmera. The villa and its location was perfect. On arrival, we were met by Anne and David, there was a private parking space for ‘off road’ parking. The villa was spacious, very clean with every amenity. We used the BBQ during our stay.
We were a little concerned by the comments of a previous reviewer, but whilst we saw the occasional workman, we experienced no noise or problems from any nearby work. The house opposite looks nearly finished.
It was a short walk to the marina on a flat surface and there you will find numerous lovely bars and restaurants. Our favourite was El Mano Casa de Comidas, in the marina. The villa is ideally situated for the local market, which we would recommend.
Thank you for great holiday, your home is lovely and we look forward to returning at some stage.
The First two days (Saturday, Sunday) were great quiet, relaxing, and perfect.
To the villas left the next day (Monday) only 8 meters away a full size excavator/digger must of been at least 18 tonne rolled in next door. From 8am to 5pm for 3 days proceeded to start breaking up solid rock, there was no escaping the vibrations and noise. On and off after this for our 11 day stay the digger was working in some way.
Directly in front of the villa was a new villa being erected most days a large dump truck rolled in and out dropping of soil, cermet mixers running and above all a number of works just outside only 5 meters away.
of course to be fair our hosts have little to no control over this. They can get the police to step in if it gets to loud but building work will of course continue.
so to sum up our picture perfect villa on holiday lettings was slap bang in the middle of a building site.
the surrounding area is most likely due a lot more development as roads have been laid and plots are sitting waiting.
Of course are hosts are no obliged to inform us of any of this but still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
To and from the villa elderly, buggies/wheel chairs may have an issue as there is not 100% complete paths leading all the way to the villa. We found ourselves walking on the road for one 50 meter (approx.) section as there was no real path and some raised irons and gravel.
The walk to the marina at a steady pace was about 9 minutes so perfect if walking back with food or kids.
Within the walls of the villa (excluding the noise of course) it was perfect. the only down side is that we had to discard of a number of items in the freezer that we purchased as there was a very strong fish smell that got in to everything ice, ice-cream extra.
The air-con was fantastic. It was on a meter and stopped people from leaving it on all day and running it ragged so it worked great! 1euro on a single unit lowest temp 18c max fan lasted a whopping 6-7 hours loved it.
The pool was very clean and if it was a very sunny day it was very warm almost hot!. The first few days it was spotless but due to the wind on the island it ended up rather bitty and a fair amount of sand in it. we did our best to clean it and always kept the cover on which helps keep the heat in. The pool cleaner came on the 7-8th day and did an ok job of cleaning it but was much better but still nowhere near the same as day one.
The bbq is a must very easy to use. in 11 days we used it about 5 times.
The villa is a great size and so are all the rooms all with air con. The bathrooms were fine, nice size and clean.
Parking space within the villa was useful and the villa ground where clean and tidy.
I would recommend this to anyone but sadly our visit was tainted buy the building work which was more than a bit of drilling
We have just returned from this lovely 3 bedroom pristine villa . The kitchen is really well stocked with good quality items and is light and airy. Having a dishwasher and washing machine made it feel like home from home ! The pool was very clean and we kept the cover on when not in use as requested . The villa is in a great location and an easy walk to the marina or 20 minute walk to the centre and a couple of beaches . We hired a car from the airport and only used it for supermarket shopping or to get to our preferred beach at Playa Flamingo . The owners Anne and David were very helpful with any information we needed . My husband and I have been holidaying in Lanzarote for the past 30 years and have to say that this is the nicest accommodation we have ever stayed in .
