I recommend you get seats/a table early by 6.30/7.00pm. Yes, it's pricey, but well worth the treat listening to the chilled music, people - watching, soaking up the atmosphere, watching the boats sail up in a group together; before the spectacular sunset. We visited at Cafe Mambo on 2 Friday evenings (taxi to get there in time & a leisurely walk back to our hotel)
The 1st evening, we were lucky to get a table ( people can wait a long time to be seated ). We had a meal on our first visit - I had tuna steak and stir fry vegetables. The menu was limited and pricey, but the 2.5 litres of Sangria, with loads of fruit @ 30 Euros a jug went down very well!
When the sun sets, everyone applauds. Mostly the 'young ones' come here, so it's great for people-watching too. Even the rocks in front of the restaurant can be taken up by people enjoying the atmosphere.
It was so nice to see a proposal of a young man on his knee to his girlfriend at the table behind us. The waiter was obviously aware of his plans, as a chilled bottle of bubbly appeared soon afterwards. ( The girl overwhelmingly accepted! )
Across the bay, the smallest island can be seen, Formentera.

The iconic Café mambo!!
If you want a sea front table make a reservation. If you don’t and you want any table get there early. Early is at least an hour and a half before sunset. The other cafes have empty tables – café mambo have a queue as long as the wall across the front of the café – which is where they all sit to wait
Atmosphere: awesome – loved it.
View (The sunset) – Worth it!!!
Food: A decent standard but choice is limited and portions not the largest if you like a hearty portion.
Service: We were well looked after and, considering the queue, were not hurried and our waiter was surprised when we asked for the bill to leave. Admittedly it was just getting going.
Cost: Not cheap!! The cost of the food was similar to other cafes along the strip but the drinks!!! And we were on coke and water as I had driven! Perhaps beers are cheaper.
Worth the visit but keep an eye on the bill

Went to Cafe Mambo during a week long stay in Ibiza.. didn't mind it really, but the drinks were well over priced.. not really a shock and it was full of "i love me" type people. Staff were ok but i dare say they would off been more forthcoming had we of ordered a bottle of over priced champers not bottles of san migel...wouldnt go back.. been there, done that!!!
