We are a family of four and normally choose a villa in the countryside with a big pool but because of having two teenagers with us who wanted a bit of independence and to get out in the evening by themselves we compromised. This is the first time we have stayed in a townhouse and I have to say that although it's a lovely property and very spacious, its very limited outdoor space just didn't work for us as we live in the country in the UK and I like to swim a lot. That said, the house is just lovely and is full of character with its barrelled ceilings. Its full of beautiful statues pictures and pots and plants and is very comfortable and tastefully furnished. The air con functioned well which was a big plus as it was 39 degrees every day and the supply of hot water to the showers was good, although for some odd reason it didn't get very hot in the downstairs sinks. Sadly the internet went down in the whole village for several days which didn't help our sightseeing plans so ended up at sights which were closed. Pepa who manages the property was very helpful in finding us a car parking space. The little pool and terrace are very nice but, and this was a big problem for me, it only gets the sun from noon to around 4.30pm when the sun was very fierce and it was too hot to sunbathe. Also there was only room for two sun loungers. The village itself is very quiet during the day with not much going on and there didn't seem to be much choice in the way of bars or restaurants nearby most of which were shut during the day. There is very little to see or do in the surrounding villages. There are miles of olives groves but not much else. We used it as a base to visit Granada, Cordoba and Seville and from that point of view it worked well as all three cities were less than 2 hours away. At other times of the year things may be better but because it was so hot it wasn't the best holiday I have ever had and I would not recommend it in August but the property itself was a truly lovely place to stay. The only downside is that the street outside is cobbled which makes it noisy and it was surprisingly busy very early in the mornings when we were woken by the sound of the traffic going past the window and locals chatting when going past late at night. This is not something I am not used to as I live in the country where it is very quiet but may not be an issue for other people.
Great, clean and very cozy house. Centrally located and walking distance to the center. Conveniently located to move around the surrounding cities and villages. The pool is a great plus for the summer time.
