I was just passing and it looked so inviting. Nothing special - but good coffee and friendly service. Worth a visit.

This wonderful establishment is run by the most charming and hospitable proprietor you could hope for. Unassuming in appearance and almost tucked away from casual sight is the Cerveceria Jardin, one of the most (if not the most) warm, cozy and comfortable spots in the town of Rute.
The owner is a lovely, soft spoken and hard working man who answers to the delightful name "Kiko". We have visited the "Beer Garden" (as we refer to it in english) dozens of times during our many visits to Rule and each and every time he has went out of his way to make sure our experiences were first class. His demeanour is welcoming, his prices are very cheap (we often wonder how he can manage to stay in business) he pours very generous shots and always follows every round of drinks with a fresh plate of FREE appetizers/tapas!. We feel more like part of the family than customers.
The bar is located on one of the busy pub streets in Rute and is only yards away from other bars, affording an excellent view for those who like to sit outside and people watch. The menu, while small, is still a very good representation of the local pub food -mostly different variations of fried seafood and a few salads. The pub beer is Cruz Campo, a great representation of Spanish beer and almost too affordable to drink!. But the real pull to this place is the friendly atmosphere and the excellent hospitality that the owner manages to give each and every time.
He sincerely loves what he does and it really shows. An excellent stop for ex-pats and tourists looking for a place to grab a few drinks and something to nibble on while traveling through or browsing in Rute for the day.
P.S. -Be sure to try the boquerones (anchovies in oil & vinegar) with salted crisps for a new and amazing "fish and chips" variation! (his calamari is also mouth-watering)
