Nice hotel with great views. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was large and had a lot of items. Juice machine did not work most of the time, with either watery juice mix or to strong a mix. Not real juice like machine advertises.

Staff was friendly but not overly welcoming. Business like.

Spa was great with nice pool, sauna, wet sauna, and other nice amenities. A nice plus. Note that you need to bring a swim cap or buy one for 3 Euros at the pool in order to be allowed in the water.

Restaurant at hotel was below average. Not bad, just not good. Chicken was dry and without any seasoning or sauce. First night pizza had 3 ingredients advertised but they left off the olives. 2nd night a different pizza had 3 ingredients also but they left off the arugula. Nothing bad but certainly not great. Pizza was still good.

The hotel has lots of pluses but we found that the town was a bit away from the main drives that stem out of the town of Cortina. We might look for something closer to Cortina next time, but certainly not hesitate to stay at this hotel again if the price was right.

Good an modern hotel for families and single travelers. Very tasty breakfast and excellent restaurant as well as a trattoria with local specialities at high level. Good vine card and very helpful staff. SPA about 5' by car from the hotel, small SPA in the basements of the hotel itself. Playground for children with different sports activities about 10' on foot. Good starting point for excursions by car, bike or on foot.

To be honest, Antelao Hotel was one of six hotels we stayed in during our spring trip to Italy. The other hotels were pretty good (to be reviewed right after this one) which might have emphasized the problems of the Antelao... Read and judge for yourself...
First of all, the Antelao Hotel is definitely more suitable for couples and not so much for families with children. The rooms are elegant and very clean. there is a small spa in-house and then another big one with an indoor swimming pool within a 3 minute drive that can be walked as well. The spa is big and well equipped and the pool itself is clean and has the beautiful mountains view through the big window walls around it.
The hotel itself, one must say, is on a main street right next to a gas station which can be seen as an advantage to some where as a disadvantage to others... Since we got a room facing the mountains rather then the main road, they did charge us additionally about 30 Euros per night for getting a room with a view. Taken that we hardly spent time in the hotel and in the room, this was not worthwhile unless the other side was right on the main road... In other words in order to avoid the main road one had to pay quite a lot of money...
The reception was not equipped with personnel except during morning - time for check out. When we arrived there was a sweet very young girl who could hardly speak English and who was on her first day at the job. She was alone and a few minutes later when we came down from the room to try and request something she was no longer there. I dialed the number mentioned near the phone to be told that someone would come to reception within twenty minutes.
The restaurant again was operated by very young adults, nice and sweet, but again with no way to communicate with us English speakers... The food was far from being something to write home about, but that was not even close to the disappointment awaiting us at breakfast. Breakfast included nothing fresh except the bread that was supplied daily and the cheeses. The rest of the variety such as cereal and dry cookies seemed like they have been there for almost ever. The cakes were just not tasty for us but this is, of course, very subjective... The coffee machine insisted that I will have hot chocolate rather then the Cappuccino that I wanted...
One last thing that might be very important for someone who just wanted to be in touch with the world outside or plan the next day trip, internet connection was very slow and although it wasn't payed for especially it made things much less simple...
The best thing about the hotel was the area and view around it, which is something that has nothing to do with the operator, the worst thing to me was that it really didn't feel like there was a responsible adult in charge...

So we got to this place after 10 days of hiking the Alta Via 1 trail.

The hotel is located in a very beautiful location, observing the entire valley and Mt. Pelmo (which we came from) and is on a beautiful small town.
The room was great, not to shabby but great for a night's sleep.

The hotel also had a great breakfast room and another pub/restaurant attached to it with nice food.

The best part is that the hotel has a spa - with hot tub, sauna and relaxation area.
It was so good relaxing there after 10 days of hiking!!!

Room Tip: Get to the spa

Hotel is in a nice location, with views of several Dolomite mountains surrounding it. Room was modernly decorated and very clean. Breakfast was quite good, with various items. It has got a nice little Spa but has no indoor pool unfortunately.
