“Perfect location in Tuscany with great views over olive trees and the Tuscan hills.”

Excellent location close to the city centre of San Casciano. Half hour bus to Florence and we could day trips to Lucca, San Gimignano, Sienna, Fiesole etc. without a car. We loved travelling in October/November with all the pretty fall colours and Olive harvesting. Our bedroom had the most gorgeous views overlooking the Tuscan hills! The owner even picked us up and dropped us back to the bus station - which was very lovely.

Liked best: Location, Views, Bed - It is really a lovely little place!
Liked least: Only one couch in the lounge room (We were a family of four so would have liked enough comfy chairs to watch a little TV together in the evening.) The TV was very small.

“Exactly as Imagined: Beautiful”

Before we even arrived for our stay Carlo, Flora and Alessandro were in touch with all sorts of helpful info that we later took advantage of in our 5 night stay. The house was as advertised- great accommodations, beautiful views and conveniently located in town. We did not have a rental car so this made our stay even easier to be within walking distance of everything (restaurants, local sites, bus station, grocery store etc.) It was amazing how quickly we felt at home. Carlo gave us some great tips from local restaurants to gelato and sightseeing in Florence. He even helped us make a last-minute reservation at a local winery. Flora was also very accommodating and gracious enough to give us a ride to the bus station on our departure. I cannot say enough great things about this rental - local info was conveniently printed for use and the house even had a lot of books and maps for the region that helped us to further plan out excursions. Seeing the sunrise in the morning out of the bedroom window with a view of the groves/hills and watching the sunsets in the evening out of the patio windows facing the same direction made for a very peaceful stay.

We stayed for 6 nights and loved it. The cottage was beautiful with a genuine Tuscan feel and everything you could ever want. While I was sick I loved enjoying the view of the sun setting over the olive grove from the couch with my new friend (the owner's lovely cat) while my partner would catch the bus into Florence for some more lively activity. I loved the comfy bed and making home cooked meals from our finds just a short walk away where we would try our terrible Italian on the locals. After a couple of weeks on planes, trains and in hotels it was really relaxing, I felt right at home and didn't want to leave.

Il Visciolo is a dream for folks who like an outdoor space and gorgeous views. Hosts Flora, Carlo and Alessandro were gracious, kind, and helpful. The stand alone cottage is very clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully presented, with rose and lavender bushes, olive trees, all around the outdoor patio. A short walk to the centre of the town, San Casciano, it's easy to navigate to all the interesting spots, and the people of the town are so friendly and polite. Flora was an excellent host. Would return in a heartbeat.

“Fantastic”

This is an outstanding holiday home set overlooking olive groves and beautiful Tuscan countryside. The house is situated in San Casciano a medium sized Italian town with a mixture of old and new buildings. It was good to be able to walk to the shops and choose from a great selection of places to eat. The house was beautifully designed, extremely comfortable and well-equipped. The owners Flora, Alessandro and Carlo were very friendly and helpful. We loved staying in the house and our intention is to return for another holiday. We would definitely recommend Il Visciolo as a fantastic holiday venue.
