My girlfriend and I stayed at this wonderful spa hotel, on a Fleetway all inclusive deal, for 10 nights during mid May.
The room, in a single storey block alongside the large swimming pool, was spacious, well equipped and decorated in modern light colours. It was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay. All the rooms amenities worked very well which made for a truly relaxing stay.
The hotel's beautifully landscaped grounds are extensive and imaginatively planted with olive trees, herbs, grasses, wildflowers and shrubs.
The food in the restaurant, which was usually presented in a buffet style, was plentiful, varied, local and delicious.
The staff, in all areas of the hotel, were simply lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and service always came with a smile. It's too difficult to list all the staff but particular mention goes to Marco, Vito and Anna in the bar, who all offered advice on where we might go on our trips around the region. That was incredibly helpful and improved our holiday experience greatly. Final mention to hotel manager, Pasquale, who was constantly in attendance, wherever we were. He should be justifiably proud of the professionalism of all his team.
It is true, the hotel was nowhere near it's full capacity and some of the hotel's facilities were not fully open. However, we never, at any time, felt that we were not receiving the full attention of the staff or were experiencing a reduced service.
Wonderful holiday and we're planning a return visit to this hotel to further explore this wonderfully unspoilt region of southern Italy.

We arrived for a weeks holiday 27 Sept. First impression was good, lovely new hotel and swift friendly reception. Our room was modern and beautifully presented. Lovely white fluffy towels and good quality linen. At the first meal there was plenty of choice and nice bottle of wine. But after that it went downhill. Unfortunately we was not aware the hotel was due to shut as it was their end of the season in a couple of weeks. Gradually the guests were reducing and so was the food on offer. We ended up on the last couple of days ordering our food in advance. One plus was we had table rather than self service. The bar entertainment (girl DJ/singer) stopped on day 3, luckily we met some lovely people to chat and gave a laugh with. One day we walked to the beach (15/20 min) as the beach shuttle had stopped too, only to find them packing away the sun beds, plus the pathway!! We then stayed around the beautiful pool, but it was very cold. The on-site shop was shut and being used to store the pool furniture they were packing away. We didn’t have any of the entertainment, yoga etc that previous reviewers enjoyed in previous reviews during July August. The spa was open but you had to book in advance, not sure why as there was no one there. The jacuzzi was cold and we had to wait for the steam room to steam up. I had a neck/shoulder massage but missed the word ‘intense’ in the description. I was moaning and yelling in pain and bruises appeared a few days later. Be warned. The staff, who also gradually disappeared, were lovely. They always greated you with a smile, even under pressure. We was lucky the weather was good for us as there was nothing else to do. We tried walking to nearest town as the bus service had also stopped, but it took two hours along a road with no path. By the time we got there we was exhausted.

Basically this is a lovely hotel but dull and boring at end of season. I recommend you hire a car as it’s in the middle of nowhere.

We spent the last. week of September here with few guests and reduced staffing. Animation Team left day after we arrived so only entertainment was a lone female singer in the bar in the evening. The result was the hotel was very quiet. Shop was closed and emptied while we were there and much of the pool side facilities were gradually being packed away

Although new and modern didn't feel they had got it right. The key issue was probably the Bar. Great as a Pool Bar but not very good as a place to go and relax with an aperitif before Dinner or afterwards. Restaurant opening times were also very short meaning everyone went to eat around the same time. The line of people making their way to it was somewhat disconcerting. No early evening menu for those with young children..

We were accommodated in what has previously been referred to as 'the quiet area' in the 'Masseria Block'. Has own small pool and breakfast restaurant which operated for longer hours than the main restaurant. The room was spacious but some small issues around standard of cleanliness. Tea/coffee supplies were not replenished during our stay and milk is not provided. In consequence guests took supplies from the restaurant including milk from the Breakfast Jug. Rooms do have a refrigerator so no issues about keeping the milk. If I get the service I tip. I did not get the service so no tip left. Accommodation is spread out over a large area so, if going late season, worth taking an umbrella otherwise you will get wet during rainy periods making your way to the restaurant and/or Bar.

Food was good and Italian style. Not a chip in sight. Great. Could have done with being a little warmer but still edible. Providing you are content with Italian style menus you will not go hungry. All Inclusive spirits in Bar are fine as is the bottled wine. Wine in restaurant is 'on pump' and not the best quality. Fortunately even the red wine was served chilled which helped to mask the poor quality. Shame as this is in one of the best red wine regions in the world.

The hotel is isolated but we knew that befor booking so was what we wanted. San Foca is around a 3 mile walk away with a lovely beach and Marina. Worth the walk (there and back!!).

Majority of the staff were lovely although one or two appeared to have an issue with the British to the extent would ignore them and serve other nationalities first especially Italians.

Main pool area was spacious and clean with modern sun beds although paint was peeling from the bottom of the main pool. Not what was expected in a new hotel.. As there were few guests never an issue of finding one although one couple still found the need to place towels on a couple early in the morning. Oh well, suppose old habits are difficult to break. A significant number of broken 'pavers' all around site. Again, not expected in a new hotel although on one evening these were being inspected. Hopefully there are plans to replace during the 'closed season' otherwise they will become hazardous.

Would I return? To the region, yes. To the hotel, no. As I say, not the right ambience for us although, with a bit of thought, has great potential.
